Does anyone else tool ships differently when fighting the Jyeeta? I started a 1 V 3 match on the Garden, and it turns out I have the Jyeeta on one flank all by themselves until the Nyktos come around the center. I'm using a 2AP Light Gun Fighter to devastating effect against them. High evasion and counter attack means that they deal damage on their turn, then can finish off wounded ships with ease. I decided to see how the three factions with exclusive ships (Mesa, Thulun, Zenrin) synergize, and I'm in love with Mesa's Hawk. To have 2/4 Torp boats at your disposal is a powerful thing. I'm actually tooling them to have Torp Spread AND Precision fire capabilities in case they are needed to switch hit. They're very versatile ships and lend themselves well to any kind of combat scenario. Thulun Cutters will be used both ways for this play through. The Jyeeta front will use the Grav Drivers to get one hit kill shots on their tougher ships, and the other front will use them as Torp boats, possibly with the 3AP versions. Zenrin will likely be used to create a buffer area with their War Barges, to give us time to prepare for large scale assaults into Xeno territory. Love this game

That feeling when your first Thulun Cutter reaches the battle lines and wipes out a Jyeeta WK with a 95pt Crit off a Torp Spread 2.

Pretty fun fleet for this game... - no carriers whatsoever. - Mesa Hawk, but probably going to scrap them at this point because they aren't as effective as I need them to be. If they could have a crew I think they would work better for my style. - Heavy, high evasion fighters capable of denting and destroying anything except a Jyeeta WK with only 2 ships... - Probably scrapping my Cruisers, in lieu on running nothing but Battleships for all out devastation. - Thulun Cutters and Battle Cruisers for heavy Torp vessels.
This setup is lean and devastating. Let's me handle my 3 fronts with minimal ships and amazing damage output...

What seems to be the issue with the Mesa Hawk?

Nothing really, except that I would much prefer Crew over Prow upgrades.
Conceptually, I like the idea of the Hawk: fast Torp vessels. The problem comes when they can no longer to the job properly... Their Mass simply doesn't permit them to run powerful enough Torps to be of much use to the fleet. I would rather pay the extra hundred credits a turn and have a Cruiser or Cutter who can hold a bigger payload.
Prow is useless IMO for a craft designed to stay out of combat range, as the inclusion of Torp boats implies that you have gun bunnies to protect them. Switching Prow with Crew gives them an efficient way to keep damage comparable without sacrificing too much in the way of Mass.
Thanks for hearing me out!
