I had a lot of bug with politics. The last one for example, I had 2 trade treaty and a solar war, I made with success a trade alliance but nothing change and in the same time I had a new message "diplomacy has end the duel of assassin". When actually I had no duel of assassin and made a trade alliance.
An other time I had a trade alliance, a solar war and a spy war, I made with success a trade meeting and it transformed my trade alliance in a trade route...
And oft it happen things like this that I don't really understand. Or I had a successful trade alliance changing a solar war in a trade route... I don't remember each one, but for the moment I had really the feeling that politic/new treaty had a lot of little bug.

There's no point of a trade treaty if it transforms itself from a trade allience or another trade treaty. It should only replace negative rumours IMO.

Somehow Cory was able to show in the game that even thousands of years from now that politicians will still be obnoxious douchebags.

That is probably the one thing that will stand the test of time, if nothing else.

I agree with both dayan and Brutus Aurelius about politicians being douchebags now until the end of man, but I fail to see how that has to do with the problem eltoreador is reporting.

Lol me too I agree but don't see the relation with my post. But its that I like on this forum! You can write a bug report and have an answer with a comparison of the actual system! Funny :b
To be sure that I was clear, I will just say I love the political system, but there is some bug with the new treaty don't effecting what they should effect. Or having a negative impact.

The Treaties in question upgrade Trade Routes into Trade Alliances, which are much better.
They can be blocked by outstanding wars or Spy interference (probably Starfixer Surveillance from RPG) during negotiations.
I'll keep working on them.

Less confusion means real bugs will stand out better.

If the treaty fails, it is probably because of your Star Traders Captain who is blockading like crazy

Do you mean that If I receive a notification saying that my new treaty is a success, he don't mean obligatory that my new treaty is a success?

The game's simulation thread is merging Political events from every Colony and from each Faction into a single merged stream of events. Your treaty may have been a success but that doesn't stop the machine of Faction politics from charging ahead and forcing changes to the Empire's state.
