and it only costs 1 AP to move 1 or 0 sectors, so you can wait / burn turns as needed for fighting drones ... and other yet to be released horrors.

oh boy you're going to be miffed when we cap that at like 12 =) That does suck :\ getting 12 into any stat really isn't that difficult to do if you spend the time to do it. I've never liked too many limitations on games, but hey not my game to mess with

Did you see my follow up comments pointing out that attributes and skill limits are very different things in my mind.
I'm open to the debate, but right now I'm feeling like the design for CK has merits in as much as it adds some types of limits that aren't present in ST, but at the same time attempts to preserve the open ended nature of the character build process.
If you feel like we're missing the mark, now's the time to talk about it!

I can see the merit in limiting attributes, and leaving skills open to growth. After all, if we can't build out a monster who wants to play?

Just had a thought and wanted to put it out there to see what the responce is:
How about an arena for combat, an underground, unlicenced, blood sport. A place where you pay a depoist to enter the arena and then it's a fight to the death. Winner takes all, no second place.
Anything goes weapon wise. Possibly a reduced cash prize for those heavly augmented on the DV scale. Or just more difficult opposition.
Have a store at the front where you can purchase medi kits, stims, ammo etc... So that you are never caught short.
Gamble on winning? Like a betting shop.
The number of opponents would could be chosen by the player, but obviously the more you go up against the bigger the prize. But also the greater the risk.
Will add a little more when I get home.

If you feel like we're missing the mark, now's the time to talk about it! I have what may be an adequate compromise, realistic to life, but perhaps harder to code: have the XP cost to increase begin rising factorially or exponentially past 10, rather than linearly. That way there's technically no "hard limit" to human abilities, there's only a realistic one. Judging from the fact that world records for Olympic feats are broken every year, it's safe to say that those few humans who dedicate every waking moment to making themselves harder, better, faster, or stronger, have found a way to, with enough experience, raise their ability by a point. So maybe to get to 10 is linear 1 xp gain in cost per point, but after 10, maybe instead of adding 1 to the cost of the previous exp cost, double it. So then, past 10, it becomes more like 20exp to get to 11, 40exp to get to 12, 80exp to get to 13, 160exp to get to 14, etc... That would satisfy your in-game need for a limiting factor while allowing players the freedom to still try for higher stats, albeit at a very tedious, time-consuming cost. (also, +K for the first person to be able to name both hidden references in this post, one quite obvious, one much less obvious.)

I would like add a little to what you've said Thetxlibra. That being that for sprinting the body suit has allowed some athletes to achive quicker times, along with their footwear, albet just a second or two.

* The ability to recruit specialized droids for (security, medical?, others, my imagination is limited) that has either hidh, or too high, DV to gain xp (to limit them somewhat).
* Shotguns, are they in yet? Med accuracy and v. high dmg, but short range using heavy ammunition.

I currently have trip two weapons with the same range. Would be nice to be able to quickly se see which one I was using. Bold or color-change (or both).
(I love it when autocorrector punches me in the swimsuit.)

Would like to get emotional detachment from money just in a few days? Relief from painful money matters like short of cash, indebtness, unpaid bills. Make the money your servants. So...ahh..any new unarmed weapons yet? Just got the combat blade implant and so far out seems like those with no other weapons equipped are better than any gloves I've found so far..
This brings up a couple of questions, sense there is no menu to show how much damage you do with increased strength or brawl, and how each weapon increases those attributes/skills. Is damage figured up exactly by what the weapon damage is?
Also, does having 2 gloves/unarmed weapons equipped at once increase your damage or anything? I understand you can swap between guns and such, but how do unarmed attacks work?
And a random game play question for anyone... Playing a cyber sword, does anyone have an opinion on sticking to hands only, or having a gun as well?
Sorry for the questions being so random..as usual, hope they all make sense.

no new equipment has been added just yet. we're focused on bugs and game play features in the releases right now. one thing that we are working on is display more stats (damage, accuracy, etc) in the combat and status windows (as you requested.)
We will be expanding the equipment lists considerably but we have a duty to test and balance the equipment before we unleash it on the unsuspecting public
