Almost any game can. I use www.gamecopyworld.com to get my no cd patches. Keep in mind though that its best to do this with no prior saved games. It's also worth noting that as a modification of an .exe file, using this in mp games like Battlefield may trigger punkbuster. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2 |

Cg: Can NWN2 be played w/o the DVD as well? I can't be certain about NWN 2, Swami, because it depends on where you purchased it from. If you Google.. Can neverwinter nights 2 be played without dvd in drive ... You'll find various threads dealing with the DVD topic.  |

I'm not sure Mass Effect was on special this summer. Actually, not sure it can be played on PC. I'll have to check. Yep, all 3 are on PC, but only the first 2 are on Steam. I've only done 1 planet of the first (too many games), but it's excellent. |

I've only done 1 planet of the first (too many games), but it's excellent. The first is really RPG driven (a lot of armor/weapon customisation) and you really can explore a lot of planet and get a lot of side quests. The second is more action driven but the storyline is awesome. The third is back to RPG with some side quest and the mini game on exploring is really fun. But what is really great is the story and the fact that some actions that you take suring the first has consequences on the third (some character that you decide to let go or kill in the first can help you on the third or his companions help your oponents...). That serie is a real monument of video game IMO. |

rabidbite. NWN 1 IS old now. I suspect that the NWN 2 bugs, have been dealt with now. Better graphics, but not sure about gameplay. If you do go for NWN 1, make sure you get the patch, that removed the copy protection. It's an OFFICIAL patch, because the protection made it impossible for some DVD drives, to read the files. The expansions for NWN 1 are good, because they allow more than one NPC companion. In fact. Think I'll load up again soon. Which would you recommend, Cg? If you're gonna buy Neverwinter Nights 1, might as well purchase the Diamond Edition at Gamersgate. It's $10 bucks. The stuff on amazon is WAAAAAAAY too expensive. rabid |

It was about £10 in UK, when I last saw it on a shop shelf. |

Swami, rabidbite, and anyone else, thinking of buying old games, online. Been checking around, and there are quite a lot of potential Scam Sites out there, offering old games, but the games don't work, or are copies, without a functioning CD/DVD key. So PLEASE be careful, before handing over your money. Also, paying for something, in good faith, that turns out not to be legit, copyright wise, doesn't make you a legal, license holder. |
