Anyone playing galaxy on fire 2. It's a pretty good Sci fi game for mobile and it's free. I thinks it's like 1GB I was tempted by that some months ago, but never bothered because of the size of the install, and my usual distrust of 'free' software. Is it purely combat, or is there Elite-style trading too? Console wise I've been playing a lot of Mass Effect lately. Doesn't create a 'wow' first impression, but I've grown to love it. Alien races still look great, even though it's 7 years old! Playing as an Adept, so I get to use cool powers like 'lift' (AoE zero-g) and 'singularity' (AoE gravity centre). I love casting lift on a group of enemies then hitting them with singularity before tossing a HE grenade into the middle of the group. Bodies, chairs and crates all over the place I have the sequels on standby to import my save!

It got ship combat and a trading system between space stations. It got a good story and great graphics and the only thing you got to pay for is for additional content.

Does Galaxy on Fire 2 have situations where you have to pay for an item/enhancement or grind excessively in order to complete a mission/quest/job?
Yeah, I really like Mass Effect. I've played through 1 & 2, but never gotten into 3... in part because I've heard the ending is ... meh.

No the only thing you need to grind for is for your own space station which is an optional feature. You got to free it from a bunch of space pirates first and then to buy it you need to get 50 tons of buskat or 35 tons I forgot (tons are like one unit of something in the game and buskat is dust from an exploded star that is used as a drug which is really rare and costs a fair amount) and you need 30 million credits (that's a very large amount) but the space station is only for storage and the cool thing about it is that the people in the space lounge will upgrade your ship and this one guy sells items that you won't see anywhere else in the game but that also costs a lot. Also you'll have to grind for money before you go to this top secret research base early in the game. You'll need at least 100 thousand credits for what a guy sells there that you need for a mission and he sells at a discount. You can also use the device to get money by looting transport ships.

I'll give it a try. Though, I must admit ... my first support choice will always be the Trese Brothers. I want to see them not only succeed but surpass expectations. (twiddles thumbs) ... Which is why Star Traders 4x is really Star Traders: Empires in my universe. (innocent smile) rabid PS: I've been trying to find a word on the internet which I can't remember how to spell. It fits a sentence like this: "I want to see them not only succeed but exell/excell/exsell?" Arrgh, does the word even exist?

Darn you Microsoft for drowning the word 'excel' with your 123 LOTUS rip off Microsoft Excel! Thanks Off. Genious rabid PS: Finished Fear: Perseus Mandate on Extreme difficulty. I think the story for both FEAR expansions are completely off canon. Updated original post to reflect my gaming habit changes.

abysmal There is a goat-magedon game on Steam, where you are a goat that spreads chaos and destruction until you die. Was -this- close to buying it because it looked so incredibly stupid, and the premise seemed hilarious. Updated original post with new games I currently playing. rabid

Feal like I'm nearing the end of the first Mass Effect now. Everything's getting quite intense. Hopefully I'll still have another chance to go back to all the planets I haven't yet explored. 40 hours and still going! Looking forward to how my save will affect the second game Also, Risen 3 is out soon. Loved the first, enjoying the second (it's an on-off title for me), so looking forward to the third very much.

I'll probably play Risen 3 when its on special! Hahaha. Nothing personal, but I only buy things when they are $1-$10. I've learned to wait through 'hard knocks'. I bought The Elder Scrolls Online, and that was a huge waste of money, time and frustration. Not going to have that happen again. rabid

I just think Pirhana Bytes make really great old-school western-style RPGS. The are the fathers of Gothic, after all
