Well, as I move further into FEAR 2: Project Origin, I realize why people think it is monotonous.
Its the story. The ending of FEAR, Fear: Extraction Point, Fear: Perseus Project AND Fear 2: Project Origin .... all happen at the same time. In different parts of the same city. It feels as if the story doesn't really progress. Like being stuck in a "Groundhog Day" time loop.

Never got around to the two sequels, but I will, as I really enjoyed the gameplay, plot and the set piece scenes in the first game. Some really creepy stuff went down there! I know the game was repetitive, but it had that 'Halo' element - the 60 seconds of fun, that's really fun, that means you look forward to each encounter. I utterly loved pluggimg the bad guys in those corridors of death! At the time I played it several years ago, I was running at around 120fps unlocked (anything above 60 is a waste but hey!) with everything on max at the highest resolution my 21" would do at widescreen. The game looked and played so smooth... Loved it

Distant Worlds is a vast, pausable real-time, 4X space strategy game. Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time. 1st released in 2010 followed by 3 expansions. In May of 2014 they released... Distant Worlds: Universe .. the newest chapter of this critically acclaimed sci-fi series, adding incredible new features and an exciting new storyline. Universe is also the ultimate collector’s edition, the first time all previous Distant Worlds releases have been included in one package, along with an updated manual and greatly expanded modding support. Kind of expensive but you get the game & all 3 expansions plus the new additions from the Universe expansion. So 4 total expansions. Having never played it, I like I could get everything all at once. A Lot to this game, you can control each and every thing or you can automate everything and just be a ships captain and move up the ranks, control bigger & better ships. More info hereSteams Page about italso found some great youtube video's by Das24680 How to Play Distant Worlds ~ 01 Introduction to the tutorial seriesDistant Worlds Universe ~ Under the Hood Preview 1 of 3I would use it on Steam, easier to get updates for it. Lots of good reviews & lots of people saying it was worth the money for it. Hope to have some extra money soon and I'm thinking about getting it then.

Game spoiler warning, you have been warned.
I just don't know how an undead, non corporeal, psychic signature can rape a fully clothed man, get him to orgasm, and get pregnant with a physical living, breathing corporeal kid. Heck, after the rape the man is still fully clothed in combat gear.
It hit my 'disbelief' level hard.

rabidbite, the game is a sci-fi horror game. The whole idea of Alma is not plausible from the off! It's just a great game. When I played through Deadspace, for example, I wasn't thinking 'Ah, this could never happen for real'. Well, I was actually thinking 'How could EA release something this disturbing and brilliant', but you get my point I know what you're saying. Sex is an actual act that does exist in real life, and as such if it is presented in a game it has to make sense, otherwise you go 'ahhh, that's not right'. Even if it is an apparition that's carrying out the act

If the logic of the created world is violated by character actions, then I've written a bad story. So ... you know... that. rabid

Ah, I play Tropico 4 on the Xbox 360. It's a shame it's crashing for you (on PC I assume?) as it's a funny and rewarding game. Really enjoyed the campaign, and I'm about halfway through the Modern Times expansion.
I love the detail in the world - the way you can zoom right in and see people working, see the fire escape on the back of the Construction Office, all modeled in 3D.
I hope you get it to work, it's great.

That's really crap. Did you get them on GOG? They're usually excellent at making sure games will run for nearly everyone; much more than just an online shop. Well I hope you get it sorted

Goat Simulator I think Goat Simulator started out as an engine / animation test, and the guy that was doing it was pressured by lots of people. 'OMG! You have to make it into a game!' So he did. That word of mouth story has even led it to be sold on disc in my local Game store. It doesn't stop it from being utterly atrocious though

WOW! Goat simulator? Maybe ntsheep, needs to see that? Me. I want a SOCK PUPPET simulator. Lol. On a more serious, on-topic note. I have Tropico 1 and 2. Number 1, plays, no prob. Number 2, struggles a bit, cos my PC quite old. Has anyone played Hostile Waters? I think it's called, "Antaeus Rising", in The States, not sure.
