We only use odd numbers. If you something like v1.2.2 it will be released to only a single market and contain only emergency bugfixes, no rules changes.

You guys are keeping busy the reviewers at Apple & co. Will the updates in-between 1.1.19 and this one still be released or are Apple, Google, etc. directly trying to release that one?
Great stuff by the way.

What happened to the rule of carriers can only refuel fighters? From a fluff point of view I thought this rule made a lot on sense as a carrier and cruiser seem to be a similar size and it would make refueling a bit awkward in terms of size and manuverability as well as wf tank size. What about a separate super tanker ship? Basicly a big tank with an engine attached. No guns, just the ability to refuel larger ships?

maurizi0 - we are now happy with the rule setup as it is and don't plan to change it again.

Cory Trese fallen What made you guys change your mind, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just curious. When you had originally taken away the refuel and repair on larger ships you had said that it was supposed to work that way the entire time and that you had no plans of changing anything back. I am very happy that you changed your minds on the refueling part. Repair being exclusive to Fighters is great, but not being able to refuel in space was really hard for me. Deep space combat just got much better. I was having a lot of trouble with taking the fight to the door of the Xeno without being able to refuel in space. Thank you. Also, I'm not as familiar with the ship types as I wish I was. Does this mean that they can refuel everything except other Carriers? maurizi0 I had always imagined that refueling in space worked similarly to how mid-flight refueling works in real life. Some sort of fuel arm (or maybe a pod since technology is greater) would extend from the tanker to the target. This would also explain why refuel has such a high range. The fuel can be 'mailed' to the target over a large distance. If I'm even close to being right about this, then the size of the two ships would be irrelevant. EDIT: I just loaded the game post-update and noticed that the range of refuel was reduced to 1. That invalidates most of what I was saying to you, maurizi0. Although it still could work the way I said and just not over nearly as long of a distance.

So the failed invasion leading to damage apples both ways right? Can you make damage based on planetary defense and ship armor/evasion/pilot?

Hi Lazarus, I meant that a normal carrier which appears to have the same kind of hull type as the cruiser needs to carry fuel for both itself and to refuel everything else, plus weapons, armour, repair bays etc. In terms of existing mid air refueling it works because the fighters that are taking fuel are much smaller than the plane carrying the fuel and it would not be feasable for a much larger plane to also do so. Anyways I was never keen of fighters, prefer a smaller fleet of battle cruisers... Gotta go rebuild the carriers now

Cory explained that refueling was added back in because they has some big ships down the tech tree which would be defensive only without some way to support them on expeditions.
As to the rest - fighters in st4x have little in common with aircraft. The st strike fighter masses 2100 and the wolf cruiser masses 3000. Far from tiny mosquito next to big ship, they are actually the same order of magnitude. The difference in size and capability is closer to the difference between a destroyer and a cruiser than between an aircraft and a ship.
The best aircraft have a duration measured in hours.st fighters can stay in space for months.
So a "carrier" in star ocean is more of a tender or replenishment vessel than what we would call a carrier. And it is reasonable that the templars have a ship for refueling larger ships -- modern navies have done this since the 40s. I for one am very grateful for the change.
Respectfully,
Brian P.
