We only use odd numbers. If you something like v1.2.2 it will be released to only a single market and contain only emergency bugfixes, no rules changes. Fair point. XD Somehow I never noticed. >.<

I saw a Tanker refuling a 747 a few weeks ago, possibly Air Force One. Also, what about Fleet Oilers? They supply any ship that needs it. And as far as repair, naval ships need a dry dock, but unless there is a hull beach, space ships could be worked on in situ.

Thank you for the link and quote pendell. I was wondering what made the brothers decide to change things around. I am definitely glad they did. I also cannot wait to see what is hiding further up the tech tree. Oh, what wonderful fruits await us! Did either of them say why the range for refuel was reduced to 1? Just curious. I am still very happy with the change. Just wondering why since a change from 5 or 6 range to 1 is a big difference. It means I'll have to do a better job protecting my Carriers, but I'm okay with that if it means they can refuel Cruisers!

Thank you for the link and quote pendell. I was wondering what made the brothers decide to change things around. I am definitely glad they did. I also cannot wait to see what is hiding further up the tech tree. Oh, what wonderful fruits await us! Did either of them say why the range for refuel was reduced to 1? Just curious. I am still very happy with the change. Just wondering why since a change from 5 or 6 range to 1 is a big difference. It means I'll have to do a better job protecting my Carriers, but I'm okay with that if it means they can refuel Cruisers! I don't think it was mentioned explicitly bit I'm guessing it was to balance the game adding an element of risk to refueling and provide more room for tactical thinking. Realistly I would guess the reason is that guns are usually used at a range of 1k in star traders. Extrapolating from this it meant that the old refueling range was closer to 6km. I could be completely wrong but that's my thoughts

Your right actually, even larger aircraft like the C-130 use in air fueling and they are currently looking to use it in commercial aircraft. Even smaller fighters can be equipeted with the faculty to pump fuel to other fighters to help with heavy load take offs. I would have thought that the amount of fuel required would have meant that it would have been impractical but I guess without the usual cargo/passenger space they can be basicly flying fuel tanks. Slightly off topic but I ended up reading about the blackbird low orbit spy plane thing. It generates so much heat that the internal parts expand to a huge degree when flying. It was therefore designed to have all the internal components so loose fitting that it constantly leaks fuel until it has obtained optimal flight temperature so cannot operate without mid air refueling. The internet is an interesting tool

I could be completely wrong but that's my thoughts That's what I was thinking as well, but I wanted to check if anyone knew for sure. It is much more balanced this way. Refueling mid-battle is much riskier now which adds a new layer of strategy to combat.

This was unexpected. TA and 4X updated together. Which do I play? Really they're perfect together. You form your invasion fleet, hit "invade" and then switch over to TA to carry out the battle. Once you've won you switch back and continue fleet operations.

fallen Cory Trese I tried to find the thread for the update that added acheivements, but I can't remember the version number and a thread search for 'acheievements' gave no results, so I'll just put this here. In the acheivements list, several of them have to do with completing tasks at the same time. The spelling of the word is 'simultaneously' not 'simeotaneously.' This mispelling is on all occurrences of the word that I saw. I don't know how hard it is to change those descriptions now but I figured I'd let you know. Is there a dedicated typo thread for this game like there is for CK and others?

So refuel was supposed to be 1 range all along? They're also going to notice Explore doesn't use up any W-F any day now...
