Sounds like a good question for Al and Jesse. Who the heck are Al and Jesse? rabid Its not important, and probably well outside the topic anyway.

STIM TIME.... Leaving the obvious illegal avenues like methamphetamine alone, theres been a real explosion in commercial stimulants. From the old days of No Doze to the more modern 5 hour energy slammers and caffeinated gum. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000J267XS?pc_redir=1408258510&robot_redir=1I had a boss once who in a very Mallor True type moment told me what his squad would do after recieving their final warning before a patrol or operation. A shot of sugar to make you salavate, followed by an entire pouch of MRE Folgers coffee crystals under the tongue. They'd dissolve and the caffine would start entering the bloodstream by permeating the blood vessels there. There was a nearly instantaneous effect, and swallowing the rest allowed for a more steady 'up' for a few hours.

Let's do a topic change out of politics and drugs. How long until we actually see Powered Exoskeletons? I have a little kid's giddy thrill at the thought. After sci-fi reading so much about power armors and all that. Powered Exoskeleton testsrabid

Drugs defiantly fit the topic here. Half of CK is using stims and stat boosting drugs. The next time I get some MRE's, I love them, I think I'll try the coffee trick. Sounds really fun! Exosuits would be cool to have, I want a power loader from Aliens.

I'm not a supporter of drugs, but if life was as destitute, hopeless and dark as the NBZ portrays it to be (at least if you weren't a corp citizen, and who knows about the wastes), I can't say I'd blame them from trying to use drugs as an escape.

Exosuits would be cool to have, I want a power loader from Aliens. Never said they didn't fit the topic. *poke* Actually, I think the power-loader thing is exactly what the link shows. Something that lifts 220 pounds of weight. Not bad for a 1st generation suit (I used to bench press 270 in my good years baby .. flex flex) Within 10 years I bet that will be tripled .. or more. In fact, 20 years brought us from the Macintosh and Commodore 64 to iPod and iPhone. I am humbled by the advances of human technology that we are achieving. Now, if we would get fired up to leave the planet ... oh man ... the Moon. Mars. Saturn. Neptune. Am I a freak because I want to have a space station above the rings of Saturn? rabid

Powered Exoskeleton testsrabid Thats so funny, I just submitted an article to sarna.net, partially on the Panasonic Power Suit but also covering a smaller scale suit in operation at the Daewoo shipyards in South Korea. The main factor limiting both lift output and duration is battery power. We're about twenty years behind in that arena compared with everything else. Speaking of South Korea, since powered exoframes aren't really a Cyberknights thing, the Korean army now has an array of unmanned remote sentry guns protecting the DMZ. It can be armed with HMGs up to and including (probably light MANPADS) surface to air missiles. Has a thermal and telescopic low light camera system with a laser range finder for the fire control system. Russia and Belarus seem to have a similar design, and amazingly enough the Lybian rebels were able to cobble together something like the SWORDS combat robot using powerwheels electric toys.

As long as the madness spreads, its all good baby. Aaaah, Saturn. Rings. epic vistas .... possible sudden death by space dust, rocks, decompression, asteroids, and radiation. What's not to like? On a side note, did you know that space vacuum can be tolerated for up to 30 seconds without incurring permanent damage IF you exhale first? Totally floored me. That means that all those movies with peaceful space deaths .... took 30 seconds, at least, to die. *shudder* rabid
