John Robinson I think I'll jump on the band wagon and give your group a spin on nightmare as well. I've been looking for a new group to play with after my last group bit the dust and the heavy CC and holy dmg is looking attractive. CdrPlatypusFantastic! I can't wait to read your next exploits. When I let Balgair know you plan to run Crimson on Nightmare his face turned pasty white, and his hands shook uncontrollably causing him to spill a pitcher of very expensive imported wine into his lap! (From what I saw he may need to see a wizard about bladder control). When you run it I recommend when you reach Level 22 you bypass a level of Savage Sweep and substitute it with a level of Phalanx Shield. Once you go Phalanx Shield you never Yield !

John Robinson Phalanx shield is awesome, but it lacks flexibility. The classic vraes lore build lists you switch between 1 and 2 handers. Also might run Kincaid just to try a no heavy armour build just cause

John Robinson Phalanx shield is awesome, but it lacks flexibility. The classic vraes lore build lists you switch between 1 and 2 handers. Also might run Kincaid just to try a no heavy armour build just cause On board 100% with the flexibility issue. Prior to v2.2.41 I felt trapped into running a 2-H Vraes with heavy points in Stone Skin. I tried several old builds before Phalanx was improved and also felt the lack of flexibility but have found the new Phalanx is a game changer. Edited for being unbelievably stone headed and leaping before I looked! I think Kincaid is designed to do a great job of breaking the mold. He is so flexible I don't even know how to build him yet. He is Finesse over Brawn. My biggest gripe with Kincaid is he does not possess a +2 MP Talent. All of the names of his talents imply Speed! A lifetime ago I was on the Varsity UCLA fencing team and became an expert with epee and foil. Every move you make has got to be quick, the fastest guy gets the hit. So I think maneuverability should not be his weakness and hope down the road that can change without relying on +MP gear like Kyera does. Without heavy armor and huge hit points he better be fast.

John Robinson So far so good hit Oskhold. The one downside for me so far is that this group is very sp intensive

CdrPlatypusAbsolutely right on the high SP consumption. Selen uses it like jet fuel. There is always a tug of war between getting +SP equipment and having fewer slots for combat equipment. The plan tries to limit fighter investment in +Intelligence points as possible in favor of combat/defense dice enhancements using skills and attributes. I'm saving SP using Skills points to lengthen the number of rounds a buff will last to conserve SP for Combat Talents. It is a very slow building plan that so far is paying off for me, I'm right at the staircase to go down and face Vurnak. Vinnie was able to purchase +200-SP mage armor. Selen has a +72-SP cloak, Vraes a +60-SP ring I'm not sure about the rest without looking it up but the guys have salted the drops with some good +SP gear. Man have I become a true believer in Sustainment Scrolls and the purchase price is reasonable. But is a tough road in early to mid levels before seeing it pay off. Anyway I hope to say something more intelligent about this later.

John Robinson sounds good hopefully I'll take it farther and have more to say about it too you. I am using Kincaid at the moment as well to try a build without any heavy armour. Kincaid is equipped with Heavy Stilleto and Hilted Blade, He is my bunker buster. Selen Broad Dagger and Hilted, Vincent Hilted dagger until I can get something better, Kyera Hammer and Sheild until I get the reward staff from west road or get lucky and loot an early + holy dmg staff.
