You just wait until CK2 KS ... the target will be $100k That would be a bit high up, but then it'd beat fracking Shadowrun Returns!!! GO FOR IT! Hell, I'd rob cash from everyone I knew if that'd mean CK2 would get funded. Edit: 1.8m?! Might be a bit harder, but nothing that couldn't be done... Sent from my rooted Falcon

rabidbite Popularity. Shadowrun has a large cult following and multiple products across multiple types of media, so it is exponentially more well known. Best way for us to see those kind of numbers is to keep getting the word out about TB games even after this kickstarter and well before the next. We need to be the TB marketing department and get enough new fans, so that, next time the entire budget and all the stretch goals are mowed down like a field before locusts day one next time.

I've never heard of it Don't worry about that Star. About three weeks ago I met a woman who had never heard the word "Ninja". Even after I explained what the word meant, she shrugged and said "Learn something new every day." I felt like I was talking to a caveman under a rock in a GEICO commercial. rabid

I'm another one that has never heard of this, might be too young, or maybe because I had my teen years some place else. What era is this from?
Plus it has a Snow Crash vibe to it.

Franchise started in 89 as table top pen and paper rpg. The pen and paper version has gone through numerous publishers and editions. They also made several console games based off it. I'm guessing that a large chunk of that 1.8million will be going to pay for licensing fees and royalties to whoever holds intellectual property rights.

Anyone beside me notice that the graph on the first page conveniently stops at 60k? It's like destiny predicts that we'll reach our second stretch goal

Well I was just a kid when that got popular then. Does have the 90's style of a metal post apocalyptic in the sample character sheets.

@chococrowbar : the tabletop game is now at it's 5th edition and there is now 2 games on Steam (Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall) plus over 30 novels out and several other video game (around 4/5 on numerous platforms) that's why (Imo) it's still popular throughout the years.
@starfixer : the 25 years of the game means that it's not a matter of how young you are. Maybe you are just not interested in tabletop RPGs ?
