$95 to go now. The orbitals are so close I can smell them. Sadly they smell of sweaty spacers and malfunctioning waste processing units

I'm another one that has never heard of this, might be too young, or maybe because I had my teen years some place else. What era is this from? Plus it has a Snow Crash vibe to it. Franchise started in 89 as table top pen and paper rpg. The pen and paper version has gone through numerous publishers and editions. They also made several console games based off it. I'm guessing that a large chunk of that 1.8million will be going to pay for licensing fees and royalties to whoever holds intellectual property rights. Actually, the original creators own it again after M$ made that travesty for 360. Jordan Weisman has his baby back, which is why Shadowrun Returns was made. He is planning on making an MMORPG.

@chococrowbar : the tabletop game is now at it's 5th edition and there is now 2 games on Steam (Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall) plus over 30 novels out and several other video game (around 4/5 on numerous platforms) that's why (Imo) it's still popular throughout the years. @starfixer : the 25 years of the game means that it's not a matter of how young you are. Maybe you are just not interested in tabletop RPGs ? My hope, by sharing my collection, is that new generations will know the true joy of tabletop RPGs. (Still the most pure form of gaming to me.) With the exception of Dice, pencils, and friends...practically every thing you need to run those games is in that directory. Please share some of your adventures and, if you have further questions...just ask.

Cory TreseI have a question. When Orbitals are added to the game, would it be possible to add Orbital Outposts? It seems like it could be done, since you would have the framework for it already. Then again, I don't code so I can't speak to how easy or hard it might be.

Boom! Orbitals are go
Now it's just a small matter of getting another $5,000 in the next 17 hours so that we can have fighters, too.

Indeed. slayernz buy us a quadrant would ya? Haha. I did put a few posts in gameinformer.com. Maybe that might pull in enough for the spaceships. Though, what I really want is to build space stations on top of space combat and ground exploration. rabid

Funding seems to have stalled a bit now that Orbital Platforms have been funded. Perhaps people are doubting whether it is worth pledging any more when reaching the next stretch goal seems unlikely

I can't complain. The Trese Brothers raised 55k for an indie game with cartoon graphics and 'still picture' spaceships. Though we don't have a problem with that, most of the gaming community does. Plus there are tons and tons of small indie games coming into the market. Just look at the Greenlight projects on Steam. On top of that Check this article out: Kickstarter Games DOWNThus, fallen and Cory Trese pulled off a heck of a coup as it is. Great job. rabid

They can orbit any celestial body, and sometimes at great distances. If you mean orbital outposts controlled by players - no, definitely not. Doing that right is a huge amount of work and not something we can add to our lengthy commit list

Doing that right is a huge amount of work and not something we can add to our lengthy commit list On the other hand, since it is possible to _go back to Kickstarter_ and run another campaign to, for example add the stretch goals that didn't get funded this time I don't think the first thing that TB will do is produce a design that could _never_ _ever_ have these additions. After all, the pain of having a game engine that constrains them too much is precisely what got them here in the first place. Grävling
