I would like more info about the 100 dollar tier reward if possible. The one about becoming part of the low level lore or something. We will be publishing more information about each of the rewards as we are ready to input from the players. We'll be gathering info about your favorite ST RPG captain, and finding ways to immortalize those Captains into Star Traders 2. Perhaps your descendants, some discovery you made, a rumor about your intrepid life, or a cautionary tale. All other players will be able to encounter the echos of your ST RPG captain's legend or nefarious tale.

If you late pledged over the weekend, I still owe you the welcome email If you late pledge for a copy of the game, you'll get that at launch time, hopefully late 2016. If you late pledge for alpha, then you'll get in on the alpha party, summer 2016.

So if I late pledge 35 bucks, I will still receive all the rewards there? That's a relief if that's the case... Because there are things that I just can't afford to miss!

That's a relief... I pledged 30 bucks through PayPal. I mainly wanted to have the three officers from ST1. But when I saw the starter experience pack, I just couldn't help it. At first I was also considering the artworks, but then I decided to pass on them.

After a while of playing, the three kickstarter officers are still in wait to be hired by me... I like how Doctor and Shipwright are designed. Their usability is actually supposed to be temporary, which made me look at the officers under a new spotlight.
But I am greatly disappointed with the pirate. His abilities consist of: +1 morale fighting pirates. If I have clashes with pirates, they are regular, so no morale issues there. Salvage prices boost - but who would make salvaging his income stream? Perhaps an alien hunter could. Better torp realm rolls - I have 99% success rate with rearming torps. I don't even use torp refills on planets. So I don't need additional help...

Just to jump in on that discussion, I'm currently trying out an all-torping Cadari captain, so I use 3-12 torps per hostile encounter. Since most ships don't carry a lot of torps <wink wink please design more high-torp ships nudge nudge>, I'm taking advantage of the Pirate officer to get all the torps that I can get my hands on. Anything to avoid running out of ammunition mid-flight.
That said, I didn't start hostilities until I had the Pirate officer already. When I get a custom ship with high torp inventory, maybe I'll try ditching him and see what difference it makes.

athios Your all-out Cadar captain piqued my interest. How all-out is he? Is he hostile only against particular beings or against all? Also, do you destroy all ships or just certain types? Also, do you seek high ranks or not? I am an advanced torper, I would say. And running out of torps was always the last thing I was worried about.

Hi poryg , yes I've read quite a few of your posts and do believe you have substantially more experience than I do when it comes to Torping. My captain is on Insane difficulty and Level 45 right now. Positive a few thousand rep with everyone except Steel Song, where it's negative instead. Usually I attack whichever faction is the target of a Solar/Trade war, and indies. Still no run-ins with Alien yet. I just have military rank 2 with everyone, and I don't intend to change this since my "targets" change with the times. Once I get my custom ship, I can start going hog-wild and blast everything that moves. What difficulty do you usually play on? Do you find Tactics useful? My Tactics is 9 and I seem to do okay... only rarely do I find a ship that I can't hit even with a few dozen tries. Currently taking a break from ST RPG to play ST 10X on PC (just bought during the last sale)!
