Just like the subject says, I have like - 100 with every faction minus independence. How do I repair this?

You are a true hero of destruction.
If you wait a few days I'll add an award for -100 with all Factions.

At that point... There isn't much you can do. If you can take contracts, that is one way. Once you can trade, look for trade alliances. Otherwise just focus an trade and solar wars and make sure you are working consistently for the same faction.look out for alliances though. That can hurt you.

Life is awful hard when everyone hates you. Still, you might be playing at Normal or Basic, so at least death might not be a drawback For me, if I really wanted to salvage this captain and try and get to positive relations with multiple factions, (I would only do so if I had lots of money and a decent ship), then I'd focus on one faction entirely, and try and be neutral to some of the others. If you aren't neutral to at least some of the others, then you'll likely end up with one faction positive, and the others -600 At -100 RP the exchanges won't be open to you, so you are limited to contracts in spice halls. Doing these missions will be an arduous way of getting positive. Do lots of missions against independents, or against one particular faction. Thulun or Steel Song are typical targets for me because well Thulun are thick and Steel Song are blood-enemies to all of my pilots. Definitely take advantage of Solar or Trade wars. If, for example, you want to get cosy with Cadar, then as soon as there is a war with Steel Song, go and terrorize Steel Song air space. You'll have great fun blowing Steel Song scum out of the skys AND you will be building your rep with Cadar. When you finally get up to about -10 with Cadar, the exchanges should be open to you. Buy records from independent factions and sell all you can to Cadar. NOTE though, avoid selling to Cadar if they are trade embargoed with your neutral factions. You should quickly get to positive RP from this point and then you'd buy a trade permit and things are looking "better". With a trade-permit in hand, you wait for Trade Alliances betwixt Cadar and your neutral factions, then buy and sell as many restricted goods as possible. The nice thing is that you always seem to get MORE RP with the allied faction than you do with the one you are selling to. In other words, if you sell weapons to Cadar and they have a TA with Rychart, then you'll often see more RP going to Rychart than you do Cadar. Buy yourself out of negatives with the 2nd faction, and then continue doing so with the next one or two. Forget about any faction that has gone below the -1000 RP mark though unless you really love a challenge. you'll quickly get to positive figures

I just managed to get to -200 with all clans and syndicates. I haven't tried getting them back up, but here is how I would do it.
Pick one clan or syndicate to work up--call it House Alpha. Do all the missions I can get from the Spice Halls of House Alpha. It doesn't matter who the targets are. When you finally get access to the Palace for House Alpha, pay for a Pardon. Then start working on two or three other clans. Take only missions against House Alpha, and after each one pay House Alpha for a Pardon. In this way, you slowly convert money into reputation. Again, as soon as possible pay for Pardons on the houses you are working on. Now you have a few houses at 0 reputation that you can use as targets for missions from all the rest.

steve -- that's clever. I like the tip about using Contract+Pardon to offset the Reputation Loss. Since Pardon and Contract cost come from roughly the same set of numbers it seems that this would be a net neutral way to regain reputation at the cost of lower profits on Contracts. Clever!

I've used similar tactics vis a vis pardoning myself.
For me (running a pirate) it's usually "Go to the faction w. 1-3 trade wars on, shoot up their merchants. After each merchant de-orbit and buy a pardon from the local prince. Sell the goods from your victim to cover the pardon costs."
For my captain who's a spy it's a similar technique except that she does 1-3 surveillances and then goes down planetside and buys the pardon then. If the faction isn't embargoed or spy-warred she'll then sell the records for rep bonus. (and since each point of rep is one surveillance success that handily gives me a few "free" surveills before I need to buy a pardon again)
So, for me, I trade money for rep w. piracy in trade wars and time for money with surveillance options.

I've practically got it on one pilot. I've got an all positive rep, but I don't know if there's a reward for that.

There are several awards based on being wanted by a one or more Faction.

I went from -500ish in all factions and within a matter of a week or so managed to turn my traitorous ways around to be +800 in House Thulun and +1300 in De Valtos...All it takes is a ton of blockading during trade wars and faction errands... but now I'm at -1700 with Rychart, -1500 Steel song, -950 cadar and trying to claw my way back up with javet, I was -900 this morning as of now -620...oh the mayhem I caused

I went from -300 to +20 by blockading their enemies during Solar War. It was about +2 reputation for each week, so it took about 3 years. You should pick some fresh war so it does not end any time soon.

Hey Boeu, you can still get into Spice Halls, regardless of how bad your reputation is. The doc will charge you more than a Da Valtos merchant, but you'll at least be intact before your next alien encounter
