You watch who you're talking about- who do you think will be building anything worth looking at in this quadrant? I hear that basic anthills have better layouts than some Javat hovels. Smell better, too. You royal brats only know how to build because you spy on everyone and everything, sticking your royal noses where they don't belong

Spy? It's called looking down from our majestic buildings. I'd hardly call that spying, more like being able to see things. We look down on you, not only because we are superior, but because you have yet to master concepts of architecture that rival our own, thus literally forcing you to look up to us. Go back to digging your little holes, I have nothing more to say to you, I have books to read.

Long as Javat keeps digging up all that stuff Thulun has the expertise to turn it into something more useful than redecorating the landscape. To bad Javat never figured out what to do with it on their own

Seeing as I love my clans equally (rolls dice)..... Steel Song. 'sharpens scimter' Oh, I'm with Enigma. Give the red star to Javat and scout south with the rest. This is a pretty cool idea. Never heard of a committee game before.

Can we have a solar war before the end of turn one?!? I've agreed not to attack Officer Genious of Steel Song though. Hmmm, is that an alliance?

I remember hating Steel Song in ST RPG too, but I figured I'll pick up some slack for them. First cadet squee reporting for duty, General Officer Genious! According to what I remember from the military academy, I'd suggest that on such a big map we let the Templar ships scout in all directions. Information is always vital. The colony ships that are not colonizing can also be useful for scouting and scanning. We can leave that low quality red rock for the Javat, we must find a more suitable system for mounting our military base of operations. I vote for spreading out, it will make future expansion much more efficient if we do not concentrate our prime colonies in one area, and will allow a more balanced and flexible empire. (Also more fun and realistic if each clan controlled different sectors of the map, no?)

squee @officer_Genious We also need to build up our industry. Our military is full of hardened mercenaries. Later when our alliance needs a fleet, their experience will help greatly against the Xeno. Researching our own technology will help fortify our defenses later, but establishing an economy and infrastructure with the other clans is more important now. I believe 5xp would mean a 5% crit chance?

Yeeehaw! Went to bed and woke up to a whole lot of awesomeness in the thread, thanks a ton people! So, looks like we not only have enough people for the houses to each get a little cadre going but we have some trash talking between the houses. Exactly what I like to see. I just sat down at work and will have a little time to update things in a couple hours but I wanted to pop in and let you know that voting is officially done! The results are pretty steeply in favor of.... Heading south, colonizing Excanium with the Javat hive, and getting a basic map of the surrounding areas.I think I'll give myself 3 turns to colonize and get a basic little map, not so much time as to lose time with the hives but not so little as to skimp on the mapping. I'm gonna play through the 3 turns, write up the next post and hopefully get it posted later today. I'll also modify the first post with a list of updates (for easy navigation) as well as the existing house hierarchy. I'm going to simply list out the people in each house and let you guys decide how the house is run, although I'd recommend just a simple democracy in each house The current roster for each house is... I'm pretty sure I got everyone but if I missed anyone just post in the thread. Also, for new people, join in! You are always welcome, just declare your loyalty and we'll slot you into the group. Really awesome work, folks. Keep it coming!

johndramey- should we perhaps set up new threads for turn discussions? I think this thread is going to get very confusing for people to follow (cough, SS and Javat, cough), so maybe we could keep this thread just for final votes and your play through. Let me know what you think, as I'm sure House Thulun could set up their own separate thread, but the others might need assistance.

Yeah ... Thulun would need to figure out how to use that danged input device called a keyboard. They usually have their lackies transcribing everything they want to verbalize.
I was originally going to say "let's use PM's", but I think it could be funnier if we stick to main threads just cos abusing another faction (cough Steel Song cough) is more fun when it's done publically.

See Thulun actually trains people to read and write, unlike Javat who is still drawing stick figures on rock walls with charcoal and chalk.

Considering we have both the knowledge and ability to transform your rocks into something else in less time than it will take your sun to go nova...without wiping out the Alliance coffers while doing so...

I can't believe I'm saying this as a loyal Song MO, but perhaps you two could stop bickering AND GET TO BLOODY WORK SO WE HAVE THE FUNDS TO FIGHT THE XENO!? ...If you please. (Adjusts uniform) Ahem.
