Our venerable leader, johndramey has yet to return from his hiatus. Leaving us to listen to yet another story of 'What slayernz saw outside the window from his perch'. Spoiler- It was ANOTHER star! We're in SPACE, for Shalun's sake.

If you would like to be endlessly amused while thinking about this, download the portal 2 soundboard and listen to the space sphere.
For some reason, its because a source of great amusement to me this last week. And now, every time I read a slayernz post, he speaks in Space sphere.
SPACE!
Disclaimers:Amusement not actually endless, and I do not endorse the use of valve property for self-gratification. They do that themselves.

Hahahha ... I think I have that somewhere. The portal 2 soundboard that is. Oh how I loved the portal 1 soundboard and soundtrack. "Still Alive" is one of my favorite game songs ever. They never matched that cool surprise in Portal 2. Nonetheless, I WAS sitting on the warm window sill of life, and noticed that there were an awful number of pieces of space debris whizzing past. 600,000 bits larger than 1cm, hurtling around the world in all sorts of direction. It took me a bloody long time to count them, might I add. Stupid dog barks interrupted the count no less than 7 times. I shot the dog, and started the 8th time. 1cm pieces of debris doesn't seem like much. Heck, if you threw a pebble at my house it'd bounce off most places. Throw a pebble at 11km/s (almost 7miles/s) and it'd leave a 10cm hole on impact ... and double that on exit. NASA and the ESA are thinking of different ways to collect and remove the space junk, including giant nets and garbage collecting robots and stuff. However, if you think a net is going to catch an object coming your way at 42,000km/h then I think you've had quite enough catnip for the day. It all makes you want to have a piece of cake.

If people are interested I am willing to start and run a community game of St 4X. Any takers?
we'll need a total of at least 3 committed players

I would be up for that. I'm just starting out in ST4X but am willing to commit to a new game here.

@rearick, the good thing is that you don't need to run the game yourself. You just need to listen to the voice of consensus, read the turn reports, and then spend a small amount of time determining next steps for the faction you represent With weekly turns, it usually takes up about 1/2 an hour of your time to make any decisions - and only about 40 hours of irrelevant banter dealing with those other inferior factions that you are stuck with "for the good of humanity".

I'm in, CdrPlatypus. I feel bad that my game never even got on track, but I'm always raring to go.

I'm going to be a vocal spectator on this ... I won't be on any particular clan, but happy to voice an opinion or scratch the hand of a Steel Songer .........

Ill play. But only if we order extra banter and trash talking.
Just as a heads up, I have never successfully kept the sector alive on my current difficulty setting, so I would be more of a "special' advisor. A handicap so to speak.
Think of me as that guy. Everybodys screaming, nobody knows why, or when it will stop, and theres that guy calmly asking directions to the nearest coffee place.
