Love it, love it, love it! I just finished my lunch and ran an initial tally of all the votes. So far we have... Clan Javat ( slayernz and Brutus Aurelius) seem to be pretty much in agreement, they are calling for habitation modules to be constructed on their main world of Javat Prime. They have not called for any other actions. Steel Song ( squee and ncaoa) have a split decision currently, calling for either Tennath ( squee) or Traggath/Epsilon Ring ( ncaoa) to be colonized by their hive. However, they also feel that Javat Prime should focus on habitation modules for the near future. Officer Genious, however, has so far abstained from the voting and the results can go either way. House Thulun ( xdesperado and En1gma) are unanimously calling for the colonization of Tennath by their hive as they feel their mass produced fleets are more capable of defending the houses. Not only that, they feel they would gain more from high quality, low mineral worlds then would Steel Song. So it looks like you guys got some political plans that need to be laid. It seems that the only thing that will certainly happen is that habitation modules will be built on Javat Prime. Everything else is up in the air. Maybe Steel Song and House Thulun should both vie for Clan Javat's support? Also, it appears that Steel Song is divided in its votes. I think it should probably get its house in order. Good luck, folks! A little less than 24 hours until the votes are tallied!

I too think that Traggath would be an ideal first-world for Steel Song - there is enough quality there that even they can't screw things up getting themselves established. Also, they would be more central than Tennath's location.
For that reason, I'd also recommend that Thulun should populate Epsilon Ring rather than Tennath, so that our base colonies are all within a short distance of eachother. Yes Thulun, you can expand to Tennath in a future turn, but for now, keeping close to eachother makes a much better defensive solution.
We obviously need to continue scouting out a little, but getting the Traggath (Steel Song) and Epsilon Ring (Thulun) colonies up and running is a high priority.

If Thulun is assured Tennath in the near future, I will go along with the delegate from Clan Javat, slayernz concerning the colonization of the Epsilon Ring. Why they sent a cat I can only guess, but it speaks much sense and is therefore a welcome change. What say you, xdesperado and brennan? Does this bring honor to the house?

As long as we recieve backing on future expansion of Thulun to Tennath than I'll agree to the delegation from Javats proposal. I'll even go so far as to call for Imperial Subsidies to help Javat build Habs if they guarantee backing Thulun on future colonization of Tennath.

From Javat's perspective, you can have Tennath. As it stands, both of the worlds recommended by Javat for Steel Song and Thulun to populate are ideal secondary worlds for Javat, just because of the mining potential. Nonetheless, it is really important for all of us to expand in a careful manner, and keeping everyone's starting worlds close is a crucial first step.

Consider it done, unless brennan has any objections. Thulun will colonize the Episilon Ring system, only for defensive purposes, and ONLY if we are promised Tennath, as soon as we have a ship ready for colonization. Our vote is cast, barring any objection from other members.

Just wanted to pipe in real fast and give a little info about the quadrant of space we are in... We are currently located near the north west corner of the map. This puts the four planets we have found in possible contact with xeno fronts. Once the votesare in I'll work on getting a scouting expedition sent out, however I need to know what you, the houses, think.
Should I send scoutd to the East, the South, or both? Also, how big of a scouting fleet?
We currently have two templar cruisers and a templar scout in the fleet. They are all around 50% fuel.

Thulun/Steel Song - what are your thoughts? I do want to scout out our region so we know what is close to our home planets, but I'm also conscious of the fact that we aren't in a position to do much should we encounter an Alien too soon. Should we refuel our defenders before initiating a scouting run, or am I being over cautious?

I recommend a short scouting foray sweeping in an Arc from northeast down to southwest hopefully pushing just far enough past already scanned sector to spot next layer of worlds and any anomalies etc.
Not a deep scouting mission just a small push outwards to start planning for future growth.
Since Thulun already has sites set on second colony planet getting an idea of where the other factions will eventually be growing will need to be addressed.
Also sooner we can start to colonize 2nd and even 3rd planets the better shape we'll be in as it starts to give us some strategic depth.

Agreed with the scouting strategy. We certainly need to continue the expansion and exploration. Javat is continuing to look for a second planet that has high numbers of resources, so Slaveria would not be an ideal next planet for Javat. It does have high enough quality for a Steel Song second planet, and having Steel Song build up a military presence there is not a foolish proposition.
SEE ... who says the honorable houses can't work together, or at least the Alliance that is forming between Javat and Thulun. We lack Steel Song's actual input here, so Javat would be reticent to speak for them, but am confident that they will too see the benefit of working together for now.

I second xdesperado and slayernz. Slaveria would be a good place to setup a base. Our northeastern location puts it at an excellent location to block of Xeno invasion. Unless they com from the south. Either way, factories will be needed to build ships and construct defenses. We only need @officer Genious and squee 's input. I also suggest we schedule a trade meeting. We need to build the alliance's treasury as quickly as possible, and open trade will benefit us all. We should also research exchanges for this purpose.

ncaoa we need to research ship building first to expand colonization effort so we have a more stable base. Once we can build basic colony ships then yes researching improved economic and industrial technology can and should take priority.
