tenbsmith has a good point... The trolls and idiots are few and far between here... Probably why I'm here all the damn time, lol. fallen and Cory Trese have insane amounts of patience, ungodly levels of tolerance for people (myself included)... Pretty awesome thing we have going on here!

Trasd - we haven't made any significant changes to the combat system or game difficulty for a long time. And the difficulty listed on the game's record (in the table of games) should be correct. It is great to hear that Easy is, as it should be, easy! I hope it stays this way Thanks. I'm thinking it's been a lot longer than I thought since I last played (maybe even since you'll changed the mechanics). Or, it could be I started playing an older game and I had preconceived ideas about its difficulty level and didn't give it a fair shot. I may have had a tough encounter right off the bat and was out of practice with the system. Whatever the reasons, I'm glad, too. I am looking forward to the story line, to experiencing something new. I definitely haven't played since before the new fighter or world map was introduced. I'm not even sure I've really played since I got my new 12" tablet, and that was at least 6 months ago. Enough conjecture though, it's time to go play!

The community here is pretty cool. A tranquil oasis of reason-ability in an internet desert littered with over-bloated narcissism and FLAMED OPINIONS. I'm still LMAO, especially as it's true (the parts I can confirm, anyway). tenbsmith has a good point... The trolls and idiots are few and far between here... Probably why I'm here all the damn time, lol. fallen and Cory Trese have insane amounts of patience, ungodly levels of tolerance for people (myself included)... Pretty awesome thing we have going on here! That's a major plus for the game, as far as I'm concerned. Thanks, guys.

When I first started playing the Alpha of HoS, I didn't even realize what the campfires were, so spent the entire game struggling to make it to the end of the dungeon level. It wasn't so much frustrating, as it taught me to be very very frugal and self-sufficient. Nonetheless, when I found out what campfires do, I've been roasting marshmallows ever since. I'm glad Trasd that you've decided to give the game another go. It seems that you had a bad encounter during the escape from Red Hill. It certainly harkens me back to that first experience as you don't get any respite - it's constant moving, being very careful with talent usage, and hoping that you make it out the other side. For us who have played through a couple of times, it helps to know that there is a campfire ahead - and where it is, but for those new to the game, it can be a little frustrating because you burn through your SP like water, and then suddenly find yourself without potions and SP. Because you don't know about campfires because you haven't gotten there yet, you're left weak and frustrated, possibly causing a few low star ratings as a result. I'm wondering fallen if you don't add a few small dialogue points earlier in the level suggesting something like "Once we get out through these cursed tunnels, we'll find a place to rest and restore our health and spirits" "We've made it out of the dungeons! Unfortunately there won't be any rest for now, so let's try and conserve our spirit usage. <hint - for weaker enemies, perhaps use some of the more basic attacks that use no SP>"

When I first started playing the Alpha of HoS, I didn't even realize what the campfires were... Actually, I'm not new to the game, but I did put it down for awhile. That's funny with the campfires because I did the same thing! I wasn't beta testing, but it was before campfires were mention or explained (I forget the details), when the game was first released, or it might be that there was no info or cue about leveling up, at that time. C'est la vie!
