There is something very wrong about this sentence. First of all, while you can step out of somebody's way, I am not sure about 'stepping into' it. You step into somebody else's shoes, or into biowaste (again). So replace with Yes, but I will hold onto it for now. I would not like to get in my father's way. But if B. fails to deliver, we should meet to discuss what to do next.

The description is missing a noun. I think it was a person I was trying to sneak that way, but you don't confiscate people, you arrest them. Maybe it was a box?
