Ok here are some of the book series I've been reading. They're Kindle ebooks that I read on my Android tablet, with a reader app, when I'm not playing TB games. The Greatest Heights of Honour, (Just starting) the 5th book in the Aneka Jansen Series by Niall Teasdale. He may not be for everyone, but I like him. Steel Beneath the Skin is the 1st book in the series if you want to check it out. I love this series & highly recommend it. The Pattern Ship by Tobias Roote (Just finished) the 1st book of a 4 book series called The Pattern Universe. The second book is now out called POD. I thought this was a very interesting book and enjoyed it a lot. I plan on reading the rest of the series, I recommend this series. The Ruins of Mars Trilogy by Dylan James Quarles. The first two books are fantastic and I'm waiting for the third and final book to come out. Love this series too and highly recommend it also. Hi, so I read Niall Teasdale's book UGLY. I liked it, though I admit its a full on lesbian erotica book. So, thinking that maybe his books might entertain me, I bought Thaumatology 101. I read the 1st page and returned it. On the very first page we have a hot female character walking around naked and we are informed of it. Noooo thanks. Plot first, tit's and arse later please. Anyways, going to try the Aneka Jansen series. I hope to GOD she isn't naked on the very darn first page. In fact, if we can have some action and plot before even the hint of a nipple, I'll be a happy camper. rabid The Aneka Jansen books are story first, so you should be happy then.. not naked on the first page or even the second one. I was looking at reading UGLY as my next book when i get some time, good to hear you liked it. I've been thinking about trying Thaumatology 101 also.

So, this morning I read most of Off Armageddon Reef for ... the umpteenth time?
Hate the names, but what a darn fun read.
Given his future work.... My god, David Weber ... what HAPPENED!?

Ok. I went through some of the Aneka Jansen books. Its porn. Sci-fi porn. Did I enjoy it? Yes. I'm a guy. Mea Culpa. The 3rd book in the Aneka Jansen books 'jumps the shark' and becomes really-crappy-without-compelling-story future porn. That's where I stopped reading. So, I thought .... let's take captain nemo seriously and try those Thaumatology 101 books again. Guess what, Thaumatology series has LESS EROTICA than the Aneka books. (Actually, I shouldn't say SERIES. I've only read the 1st book so far) In fact, I think that serie's beginning is better constructed than Aneka's. Both beginnings suffer too many erotica scenes that drag the story pacing. It was still a good call Nemo. Anyways, these series are FOR ADULTS ONLY. Strongly recommend children to stay away. rabid

Just want to thank this thread/forum for suggesting the Vorkosigan Saga. I'm reading them in Vorkoverse chronological order (the order they occur in the Vorkoverse, not the order in which they were published). I'm on The Vor game right now and really enjoying it. Each book has been very good. The writing and character development is awesome. I also like the way different books in the series mix different genres. Shards of Honor mixes scifi adventure/military with politics. Mountains of Morning is almost a scifi mystery. But, while the genres may change, the overall story arc progresses and the character development continues. Really great stuff.

Forgot about this thread.
I recently read Ready Player One. It is a masterpiece. I'm on my phone now or I would write a full review of it. In short...read it. 11/10.

Ready Player One looks good, will circle back to that. rabidbite, I couldn't agree more, McMaster Bujold is an SF master. I just finished rabidbite's Cerberus From Hatred Born, enjoyed that read and recommend it to others. I'm about to explore some inexpensive zombie apocalypse books I found on Amazon, starting with "The Last Survivors" and then, maybe a book or two from the anthology "This is the End: A Post Apocalyptic Box Set".

Oh, the book thread! I'll just toss this out there, anything at all by Hugh Howey. His books are always episodic, cheap, and built to keep you entertained.
He's probably best known for his Wool series, which is absolutely awesome. His Sand series is a lot darker, but also good. I am absolutely loving his Beacon 24 series right now.
If anyone wants a little synopsis of the Wool, Sand, or Beacon 24 I'm happy to give them. At work right now, so gotta be brief!
