I can say, playing in the Torrent Watershed, that the new SP drain equipment will blow out our old scores Matrim. Having just pulled an awesome ring with +1 parry, +2 dodge, +4 armor, and 2% SP drain for a total of 9% SP drain on Kincaid, I just scored a crit hit and pulled in 24 SP which made me gleeful. If I can get a slight different gear combination to get Selen on the draining bandwagon, I may be functionally independent of camping for the next stretch of the game well into Red Hill Keep, occasionally slinging a pot to Kjartan to keep CA going. Man that's an awesome gear to find especially at that relatively early point in game.

johndramey You need to get a Compad or Dataslab ASAP to help facilitate group communications as does anyone else who doesn't have one yet. Think of them like cell phones/star trek communicators/laptops that also have built in capability to function as communicators without any network/celltowers being available. At least he's (they) got ship comms while on-board, but yeah, for off-board comms they're likely to be important whenever we're not all one group. Had planned to send johndramey a message in game then realized he didn't have a Compad and my character is unlikely to leave the Infirmary to wander the ship looking for him in this instance lol.

Line is also a good messenger app Personally never used Line, but I've heard mixed reviews regarding it. I know Chrome at least makes it easy to share stuff on both KIK and Skype. As does Dropbox. Not sure Line has same level of easy sharing.

We can PM as a group too I believe... Yes and if anyone has KIK I'd be willing to set up a group on there, since it gives instant alerts of messages.

Brutus Aurelius lets start a seperate OOC thread for the campaign and ask that it be anchored. This thread has a lot of general discussion already, much of it not specifically related to the campaign. In the meantime was curious if you were planning to add more systems to the sector at some point. What you've got already can keep us busy for time being but think it may become a bit limited and there is room on the sector map for more stuff. Also can you provide a list of factions that the characters might declare themselves part of or that they may want to be wary of? Are all the factions tied directly to planets/political entities or are there other faction groups such as a powerful crime syndicate, major corporate enterprises, exploration/adventuring guild etc? Finally should we all be giving you our list of 3 current goals or do you want us to wait until end of this first mission (whatever it is) before getting into personal goals?

/ooc Brutus Aurelius the manual has a listing for trade goods, I'm guessing that's for someone with like the business or stewardship skills to be able to buy and hopefully sell for a profit correct?

No, none of that is a joke. Thus far this seems to be my favorite build -- mostly because those features are in place where things like Explorer aren't yet ready to be run as builds. We've talked a bit about the Job system we're using in KickStarter updates, but it is very flexible. There are unique differences between a Bounty Hunter/Spy and a Spy/Bounty Hunter. I don't think the profession system in Star Traders RPG, or actually any of our RPG, lock character concepts in any more than is required for the game to be fun. Awesome really can't wait to get my hands on the Alpha...going to be some Military Officer/Spy, Spy/Mo etc. Captains hitting the spacelanes.

My first character will be a dual-class Bounty Hunter / Spy with a specialization in Light Firearms. I'll build for Evasion and Damage, rather than Fortitude and Armor. I'll use my Spy abilities to maximize the impact of my Death Warrant and Bounty Hunter specials. A small ship, use the small craft bay for an Escape Shuttle. My officers will each have one specialization -- the first, Torpedoes and Navigation. The second, Gunnery and Pilot. Contrary to common wisdom, my Captain will lead all boarding combat himself. Please please tell us this isn't just you making a joke! Love the idea of being able to make "dual class" Captains where we can better tailor them to fit our concept for a character instead of sort of locking them into a set stereotype.
