Level 15 talent for Explorer, Scavenger or possibly Engineer. Astute Student or Thorough Historian. Increases the level of a discovered relic because their knowledge unlocks it's full potential. Long cooldown.

Yeah, I don't know, I see the argument, but I haven't really felt it in game myself. My Military Officers, which I generally have more of, tend to get to level 5 pretty quickly, if they're not recruited above it already. I don't see that big of a difference between a level 1 and level 5 talent and then it just comes down to what other talents you want. I could see the argument for some higher level ones (11, 15) that would give more added bonuses though. I tend not to use those because I already have those bases covered. I do like to have a lot of those talents though so that I can find the best recruits, so sometimes I do take them. Having a xeno hunter talent that gives an extra level or best stats + would make that a more tempting choice and add trajectory to the recruitment game.

The thing about press gang is you should really be making throw-away captains and using strategies that wouldn't really be good for the long term. It might take a few captains to get it so don't get attached to them. Fire your fighting crew conscript 5 crew each ship fight and then fire them ASAP and do it all over again.

I had a scavenger captain once who spent years cleaning out stashes. It was ridiculous. She got rich enough from Scavenging and fighting alone that it wasn't really necessary to go collect stuff, but I did it anyways. I think it ended up being worth millions in scattered stashes and half the stuff was just sold at the nearest planet that would take it, regardless of demand. That is just an observation, not a complaint or a suggestion. It's just what happened and I didn't really see it as good or bad. Though, not needing to clean out stashes does seem a little anticlimatic, like I got rewards that weren't even really worth fetching. It was sort of nice to know though that I was never really far from money in case I ever got low on it. A condense button or auto-condensing would have saved me a lot of time in that game.

While fallen still has the files open...would it be possible to get a "condense" stash button, that would just combine all the same type items in a stash together?

I'm not super sure on this, but try abandoned military orbitals and derelict hives for relics. Also you'll need rare percentage on the rewards. If you've got 0% you can't turn up relic cards I'm pretty sure.

You can see from the screenshot below, Kaera Goldburn (the principle plague doc) is offering medical drop zone missions of 10 and 13 jumps for 20k. I had little to no rep with her when she offered these, but that is still a crazy small pittance given it includes also buying meds. She was in the far flung Alpha Red Pillars of the default map. I was just wondering if there was any thought to sig dampeners affecting card games and encounters there. Reducing military etc encounters during spying would be handy

So we don't need an edict mission for victory?

I'm pretty sure that lower difficulties offer higher payouts and difficulty doesn't affect how far of a mission you will get (which plays a big part in determining payout) only the difficulty of the ships/crew you will fight. So generally it's much easier to get higher payouts on lower diff. Also daveal that mission didn't require an edict. I'm not sure if they're sticking with that for the challenge though. I've had a very hard time finding high paying edict missions.

Welll at least it's consistent, maybe working as intended? Salvaging is not supposed to please the host faction. So getting a mission while salvaging is maybe suppose to work against them too?
