That sucks, I was thinking about going over it again, seeing as now new games are much faster to play through now...
Whelp, let's start it up again.

That's like launching a Tibera HK torp at a Rating 1 Xeno ship.

On to the subject of the thread... I have to say that I've never used Kyera as anything but a spell caster. Though if I remember correctly the original thread seemed to be focusing on offensive, attack spells. In which case I only have one Kyera who is doing that. It seems like her attack spells are too weak, use too much AP and are too expensive and too specialized (Holy Damage) to be worth it. For me, most of the time, it's better to let someone with more potent attack spells develop those and let Kyera take on other pieces of the whole plan that she is better at.
The one time I have used it is on my Nightmare group that features Vincent, Selen and Vraes. Kyera has really focused on Ethereal Anguish (its at level 10 in the CoD) and then the obligatory healing and some Piety Ward. I've put a few points into Banishment here and there and now have it at 4 in the City of the Dead where it is really shining. Up until this point it was minimally effective and if it weren't for the fact that this team has a little bit of margin those point could probably have been used better, but it is fun now to finally watch her drop some pious pain on groups of skeletons.

Conversely, I use Kyera as an off tank and secondary debuffer most of the time. In the CoD, she has Smiting Blow 5, MT 5, Warder's Shield 3, and some nice armor and a Morningstar. She does great as a mini tank when you take the time to develop her as one.

For me the problem with using her as an offensive spell caster is that she has the best support spells in the game. I would rather build her for sacrifice then EA then warders instead of develop her as an offensive spell caster in the early game.

I have to agree with CdrPlatypus... Since I started Sacrifice Kyera, I couldn't see myself using her any other way. 168 million on normal, no deaths, and she is just awesome... Next level she goes to Sacrifice 4, then stops for a while... These Orcin are tough up here, so I need to keep her heals up... I do want to do something like Crimson Rain, but with Sacrifice I just don't know...

The one time I had her using attack spells, I was actually really happy with them. It's nice to have an ace in the sleeve for Deathkin and some weak to Holy mobs.
They're AP expensive, but to have her nuking isn't always what they're expecting, so it helps her have something to do other than just non-combat support... It needs specialization of course, but it's an attractive option especially hearing about the CoD and the mobs therein.

If you aim at keeping all character levels close together, Kyera needs some measure to reliably deal damage. Going for Retribution seems the easier way to do that. With Kjartan and Choking Ash she will be able to deal good melee damage as long as she hits, so EA will be the way to go then.

My Kyera is mostly decked out in a support role (heal, sacrifice, decurse), but once I got those abilities up to a decent level, I've started putting points into Banishment. I must say, in the City of the Dead, it's totally awesome! I can't wait to put more points into it. Note that I have not leveled up Warder's, so that's what I'm missing from a full support build, but, honestly, I don't miss it at all and I definitely wouldn't give up Banishment for it at this point. Banishment really comes into its own in Ep. 3.
At level 28, I'm at MT4, PB2, EA4, Sac3, and Banishment 6. I definitely have enough healing and sacrifice for the party and Banishment is doing over 100 damage to enemies in a 3x3 block in the City of the Dead.
