Some combos are natural, some are hard to get right, some are just hard. What do you think the worst / hardest combo of heroes is to play?
Another thread suggested Vraes, Kjartan, Fyona, Tamilin.

By far for me has been the original 4...
I have made the V-Kj-Fy-T party to good effect, focusing on sheer damage output as a way to control incoming attacks. It works well because there are two capable tanks (V and Fy)
I've never been able to rely on Kyera so be an off tank, so the OG Squad is useless for me...

En1gma - wow, odd. They are in my book one of the easiest combinations.

It is subjective I recall him posting in group advice thread or around it, and I gave some advice on starting out with V/K/K/T, but I'll repeat it here again: Vraes/Tamilin requires an entirely different mindset, comparing to Kincaid/Selen. Where Kincaid/Selen are proactive, putting their strength forth to overcome the encounter, Vraes/Tamilin stay back and let encounder kill itself over Vraes' stalwart defence and Tamilin's sheer firepower. And then again, this is only my own personal opinion. There's more ways to play this combination, than I can count on one hand

Hope others will post their read on "what is the hardest?" As mentioned elsewhere, the upcoming -AP cursing attack for Tamilin should really shaking things up

I've not tried Tam since she has been revamped but the original 4 once you hit Ep2 were too weak for me (at least in my playing style... I was also a rookie back then). In Ep1 they were good but Ep2 they fizzled.
Based on that I agree with Enigma that original 4 is hardest... But without replaying with original 4 can't really say.

My experience was that in Ep2 my original group held way better against all kinds of things, than against ratkin in Ep.1… or 2… Or any other episode a Deathkin would show up its painted face x.x

fallen En1gma I am using Vraes-Kjartan-Fyona-Tamlin right now. It's not nearly as easy as Kincaid-Vincent-Kyera-Selene, but doesn't seem bad. Not super comfortable using Tamlin for scouting, purely because scripted encounters always have the enemy go first and that spelled doom for me last time I uses her in an ironman group. Running this group on normal, so it's not an issue at the moment. However, because of that scripting issue I will NEVER use Tamlin in an Ironman group. I have always had trouble with an OG group. Lots of deaths. I'm guessing that your group build for them is much better than mine and possibly your playstyle is very different from mine.

Wow. That would make a Tamlin group play dramatically differently.

Really it comes down to how many of the new characters are in the group... I find that the more characters I switch out, the better the group. The two exceptions are KJ and Kyera, which are just as good as their counterparts.
My farthest group is Kinetic Energy, Kincaid Damage, Vincent AoE Damage, Kyera Mana Battery, and Selen Switch Hitter. My favorite groups to play are Kincaid/Vinnie/Fyona/Selen, and Vraes/KJ/Fyona/Selen -Vincent might be my overall favorite character, just because of his insane versatility. -Even with the changes (so far!) my least favorite is still Tamilin, but this may still change once an AP curse joins the mix.

Not super comfortable using Tamlin for scouting, purely because scripted encounters always have the enemy go first O.o Either my memory is faltering, or I'm getting different scripted encounters, but I'm always moving first, but losing the surprize round. Also, it takes a little bit of clairvoyance to trigger scripted scene where you want it to be… or a lot of it… On a second thought, I could name at least one encounter that brought me dangerously close to death without a choice. Tower of Horror, seer lord room. I should have retreated instantly, but instead I waited a turn and got nearly rolled flat.

Pretty sure just about every scripted encounter in Ep1 the enemy goes first, Hellhounds during the escape, Ratkin when you walk into the Vault, etc. Been a bit since I played Ep2, but I just started running a group through it. I think I went before the bridge Trolls, but at the village of Talia the Krete go first. On my way to Granthorn to armor up, but I'll try to keep mental notes on the order from now on. Maybe it's a random roll and I just keep losing.

Ok, challenge accepted. VKFT, Hard, 0 deaths so far. Krellin Deeps. I'll wait for the mentioned tweak, then I'll get right to roll that group though. We'll see about the death toll.

Hahaha ... fallen nonchalantly drops the bombshell "Tami's gonna get some AP-reducing attacks" ... then goes on holiday! I for one love the original team. Tami, with Ranged Onslaught is my death bringer, clocking up more kills than all the other members of my party combined. Kyera is not a tank. She's a healer/curser, with the bonus ability of boosting up party SP. Why is that useful when you have potions? Because Kyera converts 30 SP into 50 SP, making potions last a loooooot longer. Your party can go for aaaaaaaaages between camps because of Kyera alone. KJ out-ranges Vincent all day every day. He's got decent damage primary attacks, area attacks, and curses. Nasty in multiple shades of nastiness. Even if he has shifty eyes. Poooooooosssibly the weakest member of the party, and that's not really saying that he's week, is Vraes. Yes, Kincaid can avoid attacks with buffs, but Vraes just takes them and laughs. If Vraes were another character in the TB universe, he'd be your Neptune Operator. He'd stand there, bolt his feet to the ground, and deliver death and destruction to all who come close. He could be a Berserker, but I'd argue that they would be more nimble than he. Of course, the question comes back to - what is the hardest combination? That certainly is a tough one, because each character brings strengths and weaknesses, and the balance is pretty darned good. If you're an in-your-face party, then having Kyera and Tami in the mix isn't so helpful, because you're wanting tanking and melee damage. If you're a ranged attack player, then Tami trumps Selen. EEEk ... just realised - it all boils down to the Boarder vs Gun Bunny! I'm a Gun Bunny in ST, and it's morphed into my approach for HoS too!
