Just a bit of advice. I've found that a total purge of the basement (or near to it), is the safest strategy on Nightmare. I blitz to get two TPs then slow up to heal, cool, bring in reinforcements and begin the purge.

I typically rush the East TP, hold/recruit and cool there, then sweep to the center, hold there, then take the West one. West TP is a mob scene and my Hydras are out of Promethium, praying we can hold out...

If you come in from the north, it's a pretty straight shot to the center TP. You can get it in 3 turns I think with lots of +mp gear/buffs. Then drop a couple of turrets and Hydra can probably hold it by himself. The east one always gets a little hairy, but once you've got it, you're golden.

What have we done... The Core is burning; Drayan will never be the same.

Wow. Human cultists are just running about on fire lol. Amazing shots, you burnt that place to the ground!

Could have used more fire. I don't think a pyro Engineer, two Hydra and two Turrets are putting enough flames down. Maybe need to rethink my strategy

Drayan will live on in the stories told to children for generations of the folly of xeno cultists and the righteous fury of the templars.
Do the Templars have a PR dept.? They clearly need to do some more sensitivity training with this squad.

Hydra Corps, this facility is rigged to blow! Soldiers, stay by the Paladin and beat it to the extraction-- Katrina, Lucretia, I want you to turn every dammed hallway behind us into slag. Move it Templars!

Very nice! Retreating out of that level can be a bear sometimes, and the Hydra's making it look easy!

Just wanted to leave this here as I plan on using it as a prime example of how to defend your territory when spread out over 30+ squares. Scouts and Soldiers on the flanks, Hydra on their way to douse the approaches with Promethium. My Captain is at the center of the defense, propped up by a Hydra and a Neptune (freshly deployed, looking at you Brutus Aurelius . We needed an anchor to hold the line.) The lines are getting pushed back slowly, but there is more than enough of us to keep them at bay until the turn limit approaches. Just before, I respecced the Scouts to all use the Needle Cannon and Crippling Fire. Saving up to deploy a fourth Hydra should a swarm of Narvs spawn to the South. Nightmare's a beast.

We made it through without losing a single TP, and only the Captain took a single hit from a Narv Radiator. The lines never folded and again we could have held our positions without issue for another dozen turns. How anyonecan take the Narvs without Crippling Fire and full Hyrda support softening them up I'll never know.

Dalan's last stand upon the Narvidian Outer Hull. This was 5 or more turns before my Scout was able to make it to the end, and he was fully ready to shut down. Took less than 3 HP damage being so overheated, and the Promethium lake was enough to kill anything that approached. Willpower ftw!! This was the turn before the end. Both Dalan and the Captain were below 20 health. Luckiest game ever.
