Two Hydras, but using Rallying Charge 4 and being very aggressive in moving forward and upward.
Hydra and Engineer move southward and Soldier, Captain, and best Hydra up to hug the first pod.
Douse the East approach with as much Promethium as possible, then pop Pressing need on the Hydra and charge the southwestern spot of the last pod.

Training up a Nightmare Hydra squad, and this was the end result. Since you keep the entire force off to one side, you can just line up your Promethium on the only path of approach, killing the horde behind you and leaving you with only the spawns in the sections you occupy. 9 turns, 19 kills thanks to the cleansing, peaceful, calming inferno.  |
