Completed campaign today for first time and enjoyed it greatly. That said one of the things I liked about TA was freedom to put together a variety of different squads and take on all the different maps/campaigns.
Swap in is fine but often you have SP limits or other factors that keep you from running a specific Templar/group.
Would love to see the addition of a bunch of TA style maps/campaigns that let you choose at least your starting units before deployment and allow greater freedom to choose.

I agree with you about swap in. It gives the player some ability to decide which veterans to send on a mission. But I would love to be able to pick all my starters. I know there are scenarios that require a specific templar (like the engineer), but I would rather have the ability to send my hydra rather than have to swap him for another soldier I don't want and end up dismissing anyway. Dont get me wrong, the game is good as it is, but additional missions or campaigns using a squad of your choice would be well recieved.

Thanks for the feedback! The swap rules help maintain critical game balance. Battleforces are built of a core + specialists.

The format those missions will take is the Captain starting alone with a TP and a large pool of SP to deploy units.

Cory Trese, is this campaign basically going to be open ended with more missions added to the end, or will thier be other multiple mission campaigns that branch off from points within this original campaign?

We'll be adding multiple mission deployments that branch off from points within the campaign at various points, mostly on the Righteous Fallen.

I wish the system doesn't just create a random templar to throw in my games when I have 6+veterans with different classes. Needing to make these computer generated templars to commit suicide at the start of every game just so I could put out MY veterans IS REALLY annoying.

Are you using the Swap feature?

There is no RNG in Templar deploy. The highest level Templar of the class dictated by the map authors is deployed. If no Templar of that type is available, a new one is recruited.
If you are seeing "random" then there must be some bug and some additional details would be helpful.

On a side note...in missions with a required class besides Cpt or NPC....which would be Eng to capture TP objective or Hydra to burn pods only I think...shouldn't death of that class with no ability to TP in another be a game ending sequence?

Nope! This is part of the game's balance for Ironman, and it doesn't always mean defeat on Normal. Maybe the Engineer died after the TP was taken, and wasn't needed anymore. That doesn't reflect defeat. Thnks!
