Hail, Templars.
I come bearing good tidings, we have succeeded not only in boarding the Ferari Lance and purging it of all xeno, albeit by dropping it into a planet's atmosphere to incinerate, but we have also managed to rescue some survivors. These hardy survivors have begun working with our Templar brethren, and we can expect to see great things come from them.
Before going into my after action report, I'd like to recommend that you access

After action report for Operation Trouble on my Mind
Operation Trouble on my Mind spanned 4 engagements aboard the Ferari Lance, and while these engagements featured cramped quarters and heavy engagement with the xeno, the Purple People Eaters managed to come through with
only bumps and bruises severe lacerations and some compound fractures. We Templars are a hardy breed and will assuredly be prepared for our next engagement.
The entire battleforce took part in the engagements, so there was more than enough glory to go around.
Operation Trouble on my Mind started of with a simple boarding action on the Ferari Lance. Both
Engineer Setenph and I agreed that boarding through the auxiliary airlock was the best course of action, and as such that is where the Purple People Eaters made contact.
Ferari Lance: Boarding featured an initial deployment of
Engineer Setenph,
Scout sniper En1gma,
Neptune Caelius Aurelius,
Soldier Rearick, and
Captain Nikolai Ramius with
Hydra Xdesperado being deployed into the fray during the mission.
The inital boarding went rather smoothly, but we detected xeno right off. Unfortunately, while boarding, we realized that the Ferari Lance was in a decaying orbit that would bring it to a crispy doom, but also detected that we could activate heat shields around the airlock to prolong such a fate and allow us time to fully scour the hull.
Not only were we able to reactivate all heat shields, but we were also able to purge a xeno infested tactical point and erect our own over it. This allowed us to bring Xdesperado into the fray.
The northern approach to our primary tactical point was assigned to En1gma, Rearick, and Setenph to hold, which they were able to do well thanks to Setenph's newly rediscovered sentry turrets.
The southern approach to our primary tactical point was assigned to Caelius Aurelius and Xdesperado. Nikolai patrolled between the two of them, providing close in support when necessary.
The xeno never really stood a chance. The Purple People Eaters gained access to the corpse of the Ferari Lance and moved into her.
After successfully gaining access to the Ferari Lance, the Purple People Eaters had to bring her void engines back online. To do this, we had to manually cycle through the security locks to gain access to the engineering compartments. As such,
Airlock Chambers was embarked upon with a small crack squad of
Scout sniper En1gma,
Soldier Rearick,
Paladin Kanly, and
Captain Nikolai Ramius. Kanly's field trauma skills would be in dire need, so Nikolai decided to forgo extra ranged power for him.
True to expectations, the xeno were everywhere. From the very beginning of this operation, the Purple People Eaters were engaged in a running fire fight with every kind of xeno imaginable. We had to work our way through four separate security locks, and while we could have simply left them open behind us, Nikolai demanded that they be closed and sealed. Of course, the xeno would be able to find a way around them, but why make it easy for the little abominations?
The Templars broke up into two squads, usually Rearick and En1gma were assigned to open the next lock and hold the central corridor while Nikolai and Kanly sealed the previous lock. There were some very, very close calls, and En1gma showed his devotion to the cause by literally roasting himself in his own leviathan, but in the end, we were able to gain access to the engineering spaces, recover some meditech ordinance, and seal each security lock behind the squad!
This, unfortunately, was just the half-way point of
Operation Trouble on my Mind, and now the Purple People Eaters had to work to reactivate the Ferari Lance's main power systems. So,
Ferari: Power Relay Grid was embarked upon with
Soldier Rearick,
Paladin Kanly,
Engineer Setenph, and
Captain Nikolai Ramius, with
Neptune Caelius Aurelius.
Setenph and Kanly were immediately assigned to relay redirection duty, while Rearick and Nikolai were to set up shop in the middle of the deck and draw as many xeno as possible to themselves. The hope was that Nikolai and Rearick could draw enough xeno and hold them long enough to get enough SP to bring out Caelius. It actually worked, but maybe a bit too well. A literal hoard of xeno descended on Nikolai and Rearick's position, while Setenph and Kanly only had to engage a few skiterrings to get the relays properly engaged.
In the end, Caelius Aurelius was deployed and actually had to engage the rear of the xeno hoard to break through. It was not a problem however, and Setenph was able to rengage the Ferari Lance's power systems and get us contact with the survivors.
When we established contact with the survivors, we realized there were 5 of them. While ever human life is precious, one of them, a Ms. Throll, was more precious than the others and we simply had to safely evacuate her from the Ferari Lance. This was setting up to be a difficult mission, as the 5 survivors were unarmed and unarmored, however the Purple People Eaters were confident.
Ferari: Atmo Reentry was started with
Scout sniper En1gma,
Soldier Rearick,
Engineer Setenph, and
Captain Nikolai Ramius with
Paladin Kanly being deployed into the fray immediately.
We hooked up with the survivors, and started our trek to the western airlocks. The thought being that, while the eastern airlocks were located on a more open side of the deck, that openness would work against us. We needed to rely on the closed hallways of the eastern deck to protect our rescuees. While this worked, it only worked to a degree. We lost two of our survivors, but the did not fall in vain. Each of us sustained heavy injuries in this engagement, and if it weren't for the aid of Kanly, we would have been soundly defeated by the xeno.
In the hallways, we were besieged by three goliaths which simply stormed our positions and demolished our turrets. However, we were able to bring them down and evacuate the area without losing a Templar. Unfortunately, the goliaths claimed two of our survivors, but their sacrifice allowed the rest to live. As while the goliaths were taking them down, En1gma was able to drop one of the goliaths while Nikolai and Caelius Aurelius were able to drop the other two.
With that push deflected, it was a simple action to move the rest of the survivors off the ship and to safety.
And that brings us to the end of
Operation Trouble on my Mind. It was quite an experience, but the Purple People Eaters were able to adapt and overcome.
Since I haven't done so until this point, I figure this would be a good time to give an overview of the technologies the squad has at its disposal.
