I am starting to wonder if the deciding factor in the challenge will be deaths. OW is a great protector against deaths. Neptunes are the king of OW. contributor - thanks again for setting this up. Most fun community challenge ever!

Your Tunnel Complex can take a hike... without OW, the entire map is impossible to hold, so there was no time to deploy anyone... My one Soldier was at the point of shutdown before we even started North, so we had to rely on a sea of raging Promethium to destroy our enemies. It worked just like it looks like it would.

fallen Go Team Neptune! I too think this challenge will be decided by deaths. That's mostly my reasoning for going on Brutal rather than Ironman. It seems to be a pretty big jump in difficulty but if I can manage 0 deaths, I'll get the same difficulty modifier as those with Ironman and a death (I think) but won't have that 1 negative point from a death and will allow me to contribute significantly. I know Team Neptune needs me to stay death free but I'm becoming more and more intrigued by alternate Neptune builds as I go on. I'm going to respec my highest Neptune for Concentrated Fire for Detonation Site. I'll leave my number two at FV and FA, but I really want to see if CF can be a primary attack talent. My CF guy will have the Obliterator Legion as an insurance policy so he can just focus on the biggest enemy. The tunnels will also help limit xeno access to him. Also, I'm bummed that Detonation Site requires use of the soldiers. They're still sporting HL for weapons and compared to Mk18 for the Neptunes it's a poor substitute. As an additional note, either my #3 or #4 guy is going to try to get deployed this time and is specced for crits with Stabilize Platform and OW as talents. I find that with this challenge my final Neptune that I end up pulling out is the rear guard and being able to lay down effective cover fire on the way out is key. contributor thanks from me too! I'm having a blast. Having a Cap, Engineer and 4 Neptunes is pretty awesome and I never would have tried it without this challenge. I'm gunning for my badge of unlocking the full Neptune tree! EDIT: En1gma every screen shot I see from the Hydra side of this challenge makes me think that you guys clearly take the cup when it comes to crazy

Crazy isn't the half of it. There were times where I needed to fry my own people just to make sure the Xeno within 5 range wouldn't be able to close and attack.
When we finally started North, there was no way that we could wait for the flames to die down, as I had to nuke the place to keep the Xeno away. The entire squad needed to go through 3+ squares of fresh Napalm and wait until the next turn before they could leave it.
All in all, I think multiple Templars were struck by Hydras no less than 4 times, just so I could prevent 2+ enemies from swinging away.
Hydras are so metal.

Squeaked through the Vaults with 4 HP left on my engineer, in a desperate, fiery holding action waiting for my 500+ SP for the last Hydra. So worth it for that extra point.

I think you'll find some of the newest levels in v2.1.1 are well suited to Hydra!

Detonation site passed. Siege Goliath came out of the black on my Neptune right at the end and got two solid hits. Thankfully it was my Obliterator Legion bringing up the rear guard and was able to get out of there without further incident at about half health.
Concentrated Fire was underwhelming but I'm going to up it another couple levels and give it another go on the Dread Falcon. Hopefully that isn't hubris talking. It's a pretty open environment but numbers of xeno are decently low

It's a pretty open environment but numbers of xeno are decently low With Pressing Need, high Stealth buff, and some Reactor Jolts I found, my two Scouts ran that solo with 12 MP while the Captain and 1 Neptune I could swap in wandered up to the extract. It got very high tension at the end, as the Scouts weren't back yet but were about to reactor shutdown.

Hoo boy! The Litch is dead and not a single Templar lost their life, although we came very close with Aurelius. Thank Shalun for Medkits and Paladins. With 3 Neptunes and 0 Deaths for that mission, I am ready to deploy to the Smuggler's camp.
