Brothers this is a call to arms... It is time to decide which specialist is greatest the Neptune or the Hydra! Everyone is welcome to join at any difficulty. This challenge runs through Sunday April 3rd!The Rules: 1) Join by posting below with your side (Hydra or Neptune) and difficulty. Use this spreadsheet to track your scores (use tabs on the bottom to select Neptune/Hydra). Feel free to use this thread to add flavor and talk smack as well. 2) This challenge will be played on 10 levels; Drayan Core through Traitor's Bunker. Nothing that happens before these levels affects your score, but obviously getting there in good shape is important. 3) Aborting or restarting levels is not allowed. All results must come from the first play-through. 4) Every specialist, in your chosen class, that you deploy or swap in on a level gains you 1 point. - 4a) Specialists must be deployed before the listed turn limits to count towards your score. i.e. If the turn limit is 20 you must deploy on or before turn 19 for them to count. 5) Every death of any templar costs 1 point. 6) Difficulty bonuses are as follows: - Completion of the challenge with no deaths Ironman 8 / Nightmare 6 / Brutal 4 / Hard 2 / Normal 1/ Easy 0 - Completion of the challenge with deaths Ironman 4 / Nightmare 3 / Brutal 2/ Hard 1 / Normal 0 / Easy -2 7) The winner, Hydra or Neptune, will be chosen by adding the top three player's scores from each class together. The highest score endows eternal glory and bragging rights on its class. NOTE: If we somehow have 8 or more players on each side (I know there's a big Steam community out there), we will take the top 5 in each class. 8) The Champion will be the individual player with the highest score. *** IMPORTANT NOTE: This Challenge relies on everyone reporting their score accurately. You could cheat, but then you would have to live with the knowledge that you are a filthy, stinking cheater, who ruins other people's fun in order to make your self feel better. So please have fun and don't cheat!

Long live the Neptune!
I'll go with Nightmare difficulty, unless Ironman would give a better bonus.
Woe to the Xeno!

contributor looks like your Google sheet right now is view only as far as permissions. I'll sign on for a Brutal Neptune run, which is pretty much what's going to happen.

Ok, updated the scores with Ironman above. Also it's time to declare myself as playing for Team Hydra, on Ironman. I do have a much greater appreciation for the Neptunes than I used to have, and all things being equal I might have chosen them. However, for historical reasons and because I see more love for the Neppies right now, I'm going Hydra. Hail Hydra! And here's a screenshot of the team I'm getting ready.

Hail contributor, we shall bask in the heat of a thousand roast xeno. Oh, and cultists, can't forget them! I'll toss my hat in the ring as a Hydra supporter of the highest degree, and shall be rocking on Ironman. Let's do this!

I too shall join the ranks on the Hydra team. I'm in for Brutal.
I think we should all need to post pictures of the highest points for our team. --Neptunes, show before and after shots of your destruction. --Hydras, let's light up this dark world and show them why the Hydra are superior. We will purge the Xeno filth with concentrated Promethium, and dance among their charred corpses.
For Shalun, Templars!

Summoning slayernz , the once-upon-a-time champion of the Neptune in TA. But perhaps he has finally come to see the which way the winds are blowing... Also where the heck is CdrPlatypus ? I thought he would be all over this. I think we should all need to post pictures of the highest points for our team. --Hydras, let's light up this dark world and show them why the Hydra are superior. We will purge the Xeno filth with concentrated Promethium, and dance among their charred corpses. This has never been more true. March 20th will go down in Quadrant History as the day the Templars burned Drayan to the ground.

You're welcome.
And I'm through the incredibly sketchy Extermination Protocol. I only brought in 1 Hydra because I knew I couldn't get myself all hemmed in in a ring of fire. He went with the away teams and sealed up the flanks and the retreats. There were some genuinely scary moments and I found myself wishing I had unlocked the Paladin's resupply ordinance, but we pulled through. The Cap'n made a final sprint to slay the Litch, and it's good he didn't miss, because he would have been overheated the next turn and nobody had any more AP. I would have liked to had more Hydras in play, but then that +8 bonus is pretty tempting too...
