Ok, I have finally cleared the entire city of Ember and am standing in front of the final tower. Before I go in, I just want to make sure I shouldn't be doing other things first. I haven't done the Fang subquest. I did the Storm Bastion but they told me to come back for the back door thing after visiting the City of the Dead. I'm pretty sure order doesn't matter but I'm taking a break from playing so I thought I'd ask. Thank you!

Fang should be the first subquest in E3, but as you're nearly finished with E3 the difference between doing it before or after the finale should be small.

I would highly recommend doing fang now. You get some great stuff from it that will help you with the final tower.

crimsonking That figures! I should have gone there after the swamps but I was excited to turn in my flowers and I've got no mention of it anywhere in my quest log, even now. I've been wondering about my gear. Seems a little weak to be doing what I'm doing. It's been a serious grind to get through the city. Oh well. That's why I'm going to play again... matrim I was afraid someone was going to tell me that. Is there a shortcut to get to Granthorn from here or do I have to go all the way around? I've got one side of Bone Pass open but not the other...

Unfortunately, it's all the way around. It's worth it though! The items (different depending on your choice in the quest) are REALLY good.

So, I have a question about Vraes's ranged defense. He's got 4 DEX so 3 Dodge and 17 Dodge bonus. Why is his ranged defense 17+0 for Dodge? It's not that way for other characters. I'm really tired of him getting drilled all the time....  |

dagger - because the -3 Evasion of the heavy armor you are wearing is applied to your Dodge. I can't see all your armor / gear, but that is my understanding of what is happening from what I can see.

So a -3 Evasion is actually a -6? You get the -3 from the Evasion and then you lose another 3 Dodge?!

So a -3 Evasion is actually a -6? You get the -3 from the Evasion and then you lose another 3 Dodge?! Negative dice don't generally mean something, unless they are on armor. Normally, Evasion are strong dice. However, you can't roll -3 strong dice. So, the penalty carries over to Dodge. So, in total, you have 0 Evasion and -3 Dodge penalty. |

Ahhh....it's the number of dice not a d(?) number. Got it. Thank you! I like the Fang quest, by the way. There's something cathartic about smacking a big, beefy wolf creature. It just feels good... :-)

While I'm here, I've read so many of these threads from 2 years ago to present I can't keep them all straight. Is Episode 4 complete yet or not? Will I reach a natural stopping point after 3 or will 4 just start right in?
I've read through that thread at least a dozen times. Thank you! It's really good. It's still a little hard to keep straight sometimes though. I really need to drill down into the damage component before I run my next party through...
