Opinions Druid Because they are so rare in the HoS lore. Mysterious and powerful. Our teams have faced allot of nature oriented monsters. Assassin: No I think the high stealth and deadly talents of Selen and Tamilin got this covered. Knight: Tough call when considering Vraes Shield and Juggernaut talents. Monk: I really like the NPC monk in HoS. Not so sure how that would work as a player character. Monks will need some protection against melee, and missile, if they want to go hand to hand. (Throwing stars for ranged?) Bard: Bard's make me want to jam two fingers down my throat and puke in game developers laps. I always think of them mincing around taverns with lousy combat skills. That has been my experience with other games. I'm sure you guys can do better than that. I wasn't impressed with the Never Winter Nights implementation, and several other big video game houses.

Turn/calm animal would be nice, and the game badly needs someone who can use Earth magic. It also needs someone who can use Ice magic, just saying

fallen, when I think of a good Druid character to play I like the way it was done in Diablo 2. I would go more for the summoning and control of animals and plants with a little elemental magic mixed in for ranged attacks.

I used to think that of bards back in my d&d days... but phaze mentioned group buffs, and then I was like yeah! The anti-Vraes, no great personal talents, but a wide array of party buffs from his battle hymns... There was one crpg on iOS, Silversword, that did bards well that I've played.

Why do I feel like Balgair wrote this, and he's just jealous of bards because they're handsome, can sing while fighting, and could probably drink him under the table... In all seriousness though, bards are a bit over used in this genre, so I agree in that sense

I am sad to see fallen decline my idea to add "Mecha" to the poll.

The Bard in the good old Bard's Tale from 1985 wasn't a powerhouse, but a necessity because of his group buffs. Wizardry VI to VIII featured the Bard as a powerful magic using class. On the tabletop RPG and board game side the DnD 3rd edition Bard was infamous for his uselessness, but the following edition's Bards were definitely able, as is the Skald from the Myth Board Game. Apart from that, when the word "Bard" is mentioned, I think of Jon Thomas Meriweather from Alan Dean Foster's Spellsinger novels. But that one definitely hits different notes than HoS.

I want a mage/Elementalist that can select which type of magic he uses, Fire, or earth, or Water or Air

I am sad to see fallen decline my idea to add "Mecha" to the poll. Yeah! Where's my steam punk werewolves, Elizabethan vampires and tommy gun gangster cats? Oh and mechs make everything cooler, duh! Charged particle cannons, rail guns and mass drivers ftw!

I want a mage/Elementalist that can select which type of magic he uses, Fire, or earth, or Water or Air I'm pretty sure HoS air=lightning, water=ice. Kjartan's the fire covered, Vincent has air/lightning, we need ice and earth. Maybe the druid can shapechange, summon and has ice/earth ranged like the Krete...

I don't know about the genetic compatibility in the world of steel, but yeah, mixed races can be great for role playing and story telling imo.

Regardless of type, it think it would be cool to have a character who can change the battlefield with mires (halts enemies, or reduces mp/ap) fogs reduces accuracy into (and out of?), force fields (either air or plant based?) that reduce projectile damage coming through it or perhaps just simple damage traps. That would be a big game changer. Typing this got me thinking of the Shamans in Shadowrun Returns. Maybe it could be a shaman (there's precedent with the orcin) or maybe that could just fit for a druid or elementalist.
