Cool suggestions! Took some notes on these. Some of them fit pretty well into existing traits, which is great.

In writing things for the morale page of the wiki it occurred to me that the Assertive Trait might be better named Protective. I get the sense that the morale gains are not because the crew involved love bullying, and throwing their weight around, but because they really think that protecting the shipping lanes is an honourable and virtuous thing to do.
We don't seem to have a trait for those souls who really like bullying. In particular they really like it when you loot somebody's cargo, or successfully demand tribute. And I think we should. It might be called Larcenous, though there is a lot of Cruelty involved as well. They'd probably get a real kick out of watching merchants jettison cargo, for instance.

Assertive doesn't mean bullying, though it's associated as such. To be Assertive is to act with confidence.

Yeah, but in the context of Patrolling, I see being Assertive as Throwing Your Weight Around ....

I assumed it meant looking competent and as such getting a raise in reputation.

grävling, you may be confusing Assertive with Aggressive.
In the current context, I am interpreting Assertive as something along of lines of Steadfast or Proactive.

I don't think I am confused, but there may be cultural differences at play here. 'Assertive' around here is at best neutral, and rarely that. It goes with 'being pushy' and 'being egotistical' and quite possibly 'being aggressive'. You pretty much don't call people 'assertive' around here except to criticise them for being so. If you wanted to praise them, you would be calling them 'positive' or 'confident'. And, indeed, one of the things that happens to many people who move to Sweden is that they keep getting called out for being assertive, a quality which is not wanted around here. It is a source of a lot of frustration and unhappiness, especially for those poor people who have worked very hard to become assertive in the first place.

Ohhh, very interesting. Did not know about this cultural difference. Thank you for the enriching info!
Let's see if devs want to change the name.

Amazing Usurper - When committing mutiny, draws a number of other crew against the captain equivalent to Intimidate skill or 20% of Charisma, whichever is higher.

Your idea for Spiteful has been slotted under Vindictive. Added Provacative, giving +25% to Conflict Score adjustments from missions relating to Conflicts. Forgiving is on the bench right now, but we might add it once we get Pardons really figured out. A big thanks for suggesting these. Sometimes it takes us an age to get back to these things, but we keep really good notes

I think s/Authority Figure/Reveres Authority/ as well unless you like 'Sycophantic Toady' even better, of course. Hehehe, still laughing about Toady

Haha, will be fun trying to spot them in-game in the future. Thanks for the inclusion!

How about some traits that reduce damage a crewman takes in ship combat? Could be very useful for players who primarily fight in space.

We can look into it but currently the engine doesn't do that for performance reasons -- there is a lot going on and lots and lots of crew to check for being injured during combat. I'll do some checking to see if it could be added tho.
