Zenrin: We need only to outlast you. Now that I know this thread is a thing, I'll think on some more tonight

I got a couple more.
Mok:
There is always something to discover out there. You just need to survive the journey.
Rychart:
We have the galaxy's secrets at our fingertips.
Alta Mesa:
A solid keel makes for a solid ship.

But do starships have keels?

SSC: Peace is illusory/Peace is an illusion - Something a society overflowing with mercenaries and assassins might say. De Valtos: A bird cannot fly without feathers - Used to express the idea that an object or system must have all it's base components to function properly. This saying might also be abused by the ultra-rich as a thin justify for ludicrously expensive and unnecessary purchases. Baza Syndicate: AHHHH! We surrender! - The only thing I know about Baza is how badly they were defeated in the ST1 quadrant.

But do starships have keels? I remember Cory Trese saying that the Star Forges and other orbital construction platforms lay down the keel of starships first

This saying might also be abused by the ultra-rich as a thin justify for ludicrously expensive and unnecessary purchases. Tweaked this one to be a little more obvious -- "A bird cannot fly without its beautiful feathers."

Oh, here is a good one!
What animal would each Faction be described as, by the other Factions?
So, what is the insult animal?
Those Cadar dogs, Rychart vipers, Song snakes ... ?
As in "she is about to throw you to those Cadar dogs ..."

I'm sure "Fat Cats" would be appropriate for House Thulun, although there may be better ones out there...

Javet reminds me of ground hogs with all their mining and digging.
De Valtos would be pack rats with all the trading and selling.
Cadar are badger like.
Steel Song are like sleeping dogs. They don't do much, but heaven help you if you wake them up.
Rychart are like raptors, while you're busy watching one, the others are running off with your data.
The Thulun are ninnies. There no animal equivalent, that would be an insult to all animals.

ntsheep - nice work, you win on 2 accounts -- De Valtos rats, Javat hogs. So far, got Rychart vipers, Cadar dogs, Alta Mesa raptors.

As in "she is about to throw you to those Cadar dogs ..." This is a tricky question because most animals in our world don't exist in ST. I'm just going to ignore that problem... The Cadar Syndicate, is a fat, lumbering, overly-aggressive animal like a rhino or hippo. Rychartians are foxes; they use their keen senses to kill weaker prey while avoiding real fights. Javatians are worms, content to eat dirt. That's all I got for now.

Foxes is a great one Most of the common animals can be assumed to be the same, though the ST version of a fox might be a little different. I would not use hippos, rhinos, etc .
