Today my huge stealth alien hunter had a huge stroke of luck! And one Thulun bounty hunter was extremely pissed off.
I was just calmly blockading Ursae-Thulun and peacefully destroying every hostile military patrol when suddenly a huge bounty hunter 1.5x my level attacked me. So I began torping him like crazy... But couldn't hit. Then suddenly he closed distance to middle... And then I just backed off and returned to ramming the Torp button, still being unable to deal a hit... Until suddenly he close distance. I fired another torp not noticing it in my torp frenzy, which resulted in him closing the range... And then boarding me, which woke me up. I still fired one more torpedo, but the numbers 24/24 gave me the sad message. The consequences were tragic. My HP had taken a hit. The crew had gone from 50 to 5, so I had only 5 crew to operate my 36 engines. But still, I did not give up. I pressed the retreat button... And it was successful. I pressed it again... Gained range. Again... And again... Before he realized it, I was gone. Overall damage taken: 1 HP 45 crew 1 armor plate (10 armor plates left)
This bounty hunter was not fortunate. He had encountered a hi stealth captain that is trying whether pilot helps target torps more precisely than stealth (not sure yet, but I doubt it) and how much stealth influences torpedo targeting (if yes, then probably not too much)

Humorous observation: ST seems to have a lot of references to one Shalun, purportedly a major historical figure... The Russian word shalun (шалун) means imp or mischievous child. Puts the whole "prophet Shalun" thing in a whole new, humorous light.

There is a ship called the "Spy Cruiser" that has a huge signature, and it doesn't even have enough sails to be considered "Fast". I have no idea why anyone would use it for spying... 27 Hull, 16 Armor, 40 Engines, 30 Sails, 87 Crew, 90 Hold, 24 Guns, and 22 Torps.

I noticed that even though according to the help file you lose morale when you fight non-alien ships with vet on the board, but actually not only I have encountered no moral decline, I also gained morale whenever I fought Pirates... Cory Trese Why didn't you say that pirates are also aliens

My indie pirate is an alien?! I must be a Bollish Xeno though, since De Valtos particularly hates me... And I hate them.
So, if you dismiss an officer in deep space, do you just shove them out of the airlock? Or do you let them off next time you land? I prefer ditching them on VERY hazardous feral planets... they can sit there trying to survive... but they won't... oh well...

I'm sure most Captains at least have the basic decency to send them off in an escape pod... makes for great Torp practice. I think a Scout officer might be able to hang in there on a feral planet?

Scout, yes, templar, most likely.... I think that's all. And only you Cadar people would torp it...I'm Steel Song, so I'd... uh... hmm... I'd... I'll get back to you...

"A swarm of refugees have overrun Hyperion Demonic Nebula and are ruining the value of everything" When refugees are fleeing towards the alien-infested demonic nebula, you know things are bad.

"A swarm of refugees have overrun Hyperion Demonic Nebula and are ruining the value of everything" When refugees are fleeing towards the alien-infested demonic nebula, you know things are bad. The plan involves burying the xenos forever beneath their corpses. I might have driven them to it with Force Persuasion in order to eliminate the clans and houses I dislike (all except Cadar).

"There's been a recent shortage of metal on Javat Mining Camp." How? HOW?! Obviously the veins of ore ran dry at last - with their tech, they're probably capable of semicore mining. Or a tectonic shift carried away the rest of the veins they've been following. It's also possible Rust Monsters had something to do with it. That Cadar buys (or takes) all the metal to turn into torps probably doesn't help, either.

The tritium oxide, T2O, always makes me laugh, since T2O is a titanium oxide.. .

Actually that's wrong. T2O is the correct formula for tritium oxide. The formula for titanium oxide is TiO2.
