ahhhonfire- Syndicates are good. In place of nobles, we have the elites. You can be born noble but you have to fight to become elite.

You would have to hope for targets out of boredom,since it seems cadar is almost equal to all the rest of the captains combined...the ones who have the guts to pick a side anyway. ;D

In fact unless the dealers run out of torps you may just have to start shooting each other as there will be nobody else left.

Cadari always manage to find something to shoot ... there are plenty of other targets of opportunity merchants, pirates, bounty hunters, military of other factions to keep them busy without having to resort to shooting at themselves. Then again - that's not really uncommon either.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

I was a young captain, inexperienced and green as they get. I knew nothing of the Quadrant's complex economic machinery, the power divided amongst the factions, the neverending struggle to survive. I knew nothing of honor and justice.... and torpedos. So I became a pirate and gained the ire of all factions (even my own which was De Valtos at the time). All BUT ONE. The Cadar embraced me as one of their own. They were there for me when I was abandoned. They understood me !

I doesn't matter if I play as a peaceful trader, a spy, a pirate or a military officer, my allegiance, in the end, belongs to the Cadar ! Cadar be praised !

Didn't vote, but I love House Thulun. I like being able to upgrade my ship regularly after every exploratory haul. Otherwise my poor Vae Victae would get ripped to pieces by those syndicate pirates and backwater Steel Song fellows.

I've always been Devaltos and Rycher. For some unknown reason I hate Thulun and always look for the chance to catch them in a solar war. Yesterday after posting here I logged on to play. Thulun was in a Solar War with both my factions. So naturally I loaded my ship with w-f and blockaded until empty. On two of their planets. That brought insane Exp as well.

What caught me by surprise was all of a sudden Cadar ships were asking to be acknowledged. I checked my stats and had gone from - 5000 or so to positive 400 with Cadar. Of course I shot over to get a trade permit, death warrant and military commission up to level 18.

So now I hold military rank of Hyperion Overlord Captain with Devaltos, Rycher and Cadar. That's what I mean about starting over. That and the quarter billion bucks I couldn't bring over with me to the other levels. LOL

However if it had been as I saw posted on the forum, unlocks to get to each new level I'm sure I'd probably work to get those unlocks. But I'm still not thrilled about being killed and loosing hundreds of millions.

Nah, you'd be using another Captain (who starts with nothing to lose) to do that.

These award-locking Captains are like Scenario Captains.

Have you played some war games that has both a Campaign mode and Scenario Modes?

Y'know, you could treat your Basic Captain as the Campaign mode Captain.

And completing certain Scenarios (by achieving all available unlocks on that certain difficulty with a few Scenario Captains) gives that Campaign mode Captain more power-ups.

Who knows, you might grow to love some of the Scenario Captains even more than your Campaign more Captain. ;D

Clan Javat forever! Death to De Valtos!

As far as location is concerned, you just have to stay chummy enough with Thulun that they won't keep bothering you with warships and you have safe passage to most of the good fringe worlds in the NW portion of the quadrant. Not only that, but it seems like no one ever sets an embargo against Javat, which is really handy.

Also, if faction conflicts tie my hands when it comes to doing contracts or if I ever just get bored, Rift-Leporis-4 is always close at hand for me to blockade for my own amusement while still keeping a close eye on those De Valtos bastards. They're pirates, the lot of them I tell you, all pirates.

It doesn't help that they basically control travel into syndicate space from Javat Prime, I'd be buddies with Rychart too if I could freaking get to them. But now they all think I'm a terrorist
