With the woman who Cerberus killed, I sorta felt bad for her. I don't think, at least in my honest opinion, that she was saying she was a good person, but she was saying she would be a good person, and she was clearly terrified of Cerberus so it's highly probable she wouldn't have attacked him.
Other than that, absolutely a great read.

You should feel bad.
Cerberus committed unjust murder. He isn't a good guy, not by a long shot.
Even worst ... did the poor boy deserve it? Not in the least. He deserved it least of all. In fact, the only honest one in that scene was the boy ... and he was the first to die .. AND to get kicked to the side like rubbish and the only one not to have any words.
The scene's motto is that, innocence is the first to suffer.
Just remember, Cerberus is not a hero. He's not an anti-hero. He is a villain. He is someone I would, any day of the week, drive over with a truck.
You're making me want to rewrite it a little ... add more pleading to her. Make it more evil, more unfair, more sadistic.
God help me. I am a twisted man.

Oddly enough, it looks more that Cerberus was trying to justify his killing of the youth, and then pretty much said to the dead boy that Cerberus was doing the kid a favor. As a Knight, yes he works outside the law, and considering the man that was killed as well, I could completely argue that the killing of the youth was in fact a mercy killing. What makes the whole scene even weirder in my opinion is that he didn't really take time to think about killing all three of them (indeed possibly taking joy in killing the woman if, as you say he is a villain is going to either taunt or toy with them psychologically) but actually in an odd way kept Fifi, despite him saying he only liked dogs a little and even going so far as to kill his much adored Rottweiler for the sole fact that the dog loved him unerringly.
The short version:
Killing the boy could be justified to be more of a mercy killing.
Clearly he treats dogs with more respect than people, despite the fact that he really hates dogs.
Cerberus is still awesome.

The scene is supposed to be weird, odd, conflicting, and unbalanced. I'm depicting insanity. The ... craving of killing (there is a line that says that) versus remorse, versus, indifference. Three heads. I'm glad you like the story enough to comment on it.  I'll take off now. The next scene is ... very difficult. |
