So when you read the action report I just posted you'll realize that I'm in a bit of a pickle. I have 4,804 honor and two men in the squad. So my options are this.... recruit a couple templars and just run them stock or recruit one and kit him out. I'm leaning towards recruiting one soldier and one scout and using the left overs to give them some gear. I'll list down the prices for recruitment in this post, but costs for gear get complicated. If you have TA feel free to boot it up and tell me exactly what you think I should do, but otherwise give me some general aims and I'll see what I can do to follow you. Scout = 1,000 honor Soldier = 1,000 honor Heavy weapons = 2,200 honor Captain = 2,600 honor So.... vote! Hopefully a couple people will pitch in with some plans of action and give me a course of action to follow. If no one posts in here I'll a) be very, very sad and b)go on with my initial plan. Ah! And Captain Stewart has 2 XP to spend. His stats are currently. Strength: 4 Tactics: 5 Quickness: 3 Evasion: 5 Warrior: 5 Ranged: 3 So where do you guys want me to put the XP?

Very cool, thanks for doing this!
For clarity, you cannot buy a captain for any price. The current "Command" possibility is Berserker.
I would recruit a Neptune trooper (heavy weapons) and a regular soldier, and equip the soldiers with Plasma rifles. Use one of your soldiers to cover the Neptune's back, because Neptunes tend to be slow, can't move after firing, and can't fire through other trrops. That said, it's the best firepower you can afford.

Thanks for the input Lt. Hathaway, and thanks for the praise Cory. I'm a little busy today going to the embassy and such, but I'll check back here when I get some time and hopefully I can make another posting in the 314 thread later tonight!

Ugh, actually played through the mission and screenshotted it all out but ran into some sort of bug (I think) which prevented me from finishing the mission. Had to scrap that run and restart, so hopefully I'll be able to play through the next map tonight and post everything tomorrow evening. Give me 24 hours guys, hopefully I can give you the next installment tomorrow.
Since the next map will wrap up Secrets of a Dark Age, what should the next campaign be? I'm totally open to suggestion, but keep in mind that I'll have 4 templars left, a soldier, a scout, a Neptune gunner, and the cap himself. So.... What next?

johndramey - you want a killer one? Try Vengeance of the Templar, which I am trying to beat right now with a green squad.

fallen I think I could have probably ended the mission the first time around, but I just didn't realize the extraction zone wasn't kicking in. I've since run the mission to completion. You guys'll just have to wait to see if everyone made it out in one piece this time haha.

Oh boy, it's 11:30pm and I need to wake up at 5:00am for work but I've finished another update! I think I'm on the last mission of Secrets of a Dark Age so after this I'm taking up fallen's challenge and jumping into another campaign. Go check out unit 314 and let me know what you guys think! Your praise, criticism, and just general discussion keeps me going!

johndramey - awesome report, a really fun read. The Neptune really pulled his weight and held off the flood. Well executed, and clean extraction. Personally, I always struggle in those last few turns when ammo is running low and the extraction point is so close -- just to keep the tight discipline and not to do something stupid. Great work! Your awesome logs inspired me to write the next campaign in the story, chasing the villain Malloc! Keep that squad alive, you'll get another chance to catch him.
