AArrgh! After much time messing with templates and design on Blogger I think I finally solved our HUGE posts problem on the blog! To all Posters, You MUST add a page break (Button is at the top of the screen) After the first couple of paragraphs or after the first picture. That abbreviates the post on the Home page and makes it much MUCH nicer to look at. Unfortunately I could find no automated feature for this so contributors with posting rights will need to be mindful to add it in when they create their posts. I also made the template wider but I am not sure just how large I should make it in case people still use small monitors or low resolutions. Thank you so much everyone. The blog is coming along great. Design improvements will continue to be added as we are able. fallen those dynamic templates were awesome but you seemed to lose all ability to add gadgets so I did not use one for now and made the above mentioned changes instead. I will continue to work on the overall look and feel of the site. Perhaps dayan can help with some cool back grounds or something!  |

dayan - taking something like the officers PSD and splitting it so that they could flank the main column on either side would be awesome ... I'm sure you've seen the technique on other game blogs. Probably would put the "Star Traders title in the top right and top left column. We can rotate those promo BGs as we want to between the games if we have more works.

Might be best to make an image that is 200 - 300 PX wide and fades to blade, so we can just have it hang their like a curtain with a normal black background

dayan - lets go taller if we can ... maybe 500-600 taller, one for the right one for the left. Maybe drop the "Star Traders" title you had in the top outer corners.

Got travail 's story posted! Made some changes to the blog to help Highlight the content more with new label widgets on the sidebar. Come check it out. shalunslibrary.blogspot.com/Also anyone with posting rights I made some adjustments to Label Norms. Author will now be just be the name of the person, ie Paxdad. I dropped "by" on everyone. All Labels will start with a capital letter, write them as proper titles, ie Star Traders, Fiction etc... Art labels should be Art, Artist, Game, ie Art, Paxdad, Star Traders. Fiction labels should be Fiction, Title, Author, Game, ie Fiction, Data Kill, Paxdad, Cyber Knights If in doubt check your previous posts or look at any of the posts. I have updated all of them for consistency. You can see all of the Labels that are created when you choose them so it is really simple. It doesn't matter what order you add the labels to the post so don't worry about that. If we keep things organized while the blog is small it will help us when the site grows! Thanks everyone for the awesome submissions so far and everyone's efforts and input! I'm Blog deficient, if you need to break up my Cerberus thing to manageable sizes, go ahead. Or heck, point me to a tutorial. Blogging is interesting. rabid |
