"I would prefer the in-game rolls to be influenced by the ship's stats."
A mystery statement to me. In-game rolls are made 100% using either the character's skill/stats and ship stats or a combination of the two.
I cannot think of a single significant test in the game that does not use the player's stats in some form or fashion.[/li][li]
- Not counting world simulation generation such as conflict assignment and rumor valuations.

I should clarify. What I meant was: I would like ship stats to be a much more important thing in the player's mind, but due to the difficulty of acquiring a ship with good stats, people only really pay attention to guns, torps and cargo space. All three of those are available as rather good upgrades, so people rarely have a reason to change ships.
By slashing ship prices it makes ship stats a much more important feature for players. In the start game you are relying on the horseshoe too much, rather than ship stats (as character's skills are not too good, you would, theoreticaly, rely more on how good your ship is).

I'd like to see what Faction/House/Ind. controls what planet when I view the Cargo specific screen for price information on goods. I don't know all of the planets by heart and consulting a chart is just too much for casual play.
If I have a bunch of Artificats to sell, and I see Planet X has a great sell price, I'd like to know that Planet X belongs to Steel Song Clan. Then I can just flip over to Factions and see that I have a Trade Ban against them.
Would also be neat if the planets/pricing were color-coded for friend vs. foe?

I would like for there to be a warning when you're in a port that there's a trade war going on and you'll lose rep if you use the exchange there. It's irritating to have to buy pardons everywhere you go. -_-*

One thing and one thing only: MAKE IT SO BUYING WATER DOES NOT REDUCE REPUTATION! If you barely make it to a port, and there's a trade war, what the hell do you do? You lose your trade permit if you buy enough water/fuel to get away. Defeats the purpose. All spacers need water to live. I can understand buying anything else kicking your trade permit to the curb, but water/fuel? Shits retarded. Just sayin. And then theres that whole pirate thing. If they're a PIRATE and they represent a certain house, and they attack me, why do I lose reputation with a house for defending myself and kicking that pirates ass, looting his hold, enslaving his crew, and then blowing it out of the sky? He attacked ME! Example: House Thulun Pirate is attacking me. I am House Thulun. I cannot retreat, taking damage trying to retreat. I turn to fight. I kick the pirate's ass. I take his ship because it's better. I lose favor from my own house because I defended myself....from my own... house? This kind of thing really just irks me, and feels like it ruins the game.... seems like it was more fun when I wasn't trying so hard to get a bunch of these accomplishments. I want to just get them turned on... seems like if I paid for the game, I should just get them.

The only time I've ever seen her miss warning a captain about things like embargoes (not trade wars, those are fine) are when they start up while you're docked. (like, say, when you are in Space Dock for weeks doing repairs) -abs

See, I got one of those once I found one. Problem: Barely made it out of my last fight alive. Crew is very angry. I have no water. Oh look Trade Embargo! No planets I can actually go to for the next 8 Parsecs or so. Just enough water to get me where I need..... YOU HAVE VIOLATED AN EMBARGO WITH X HOUSE AND HAVE LOST YOUR RANK AND TITLE. I WAS AT THE DRINKING FOUNTAIN FOR CHRISTS SAKE!
So back to it again, if there were one thing for certain I would change---water/fuel has no effect on embargoes, and can be purchased anywhere, and even better... you don't need an exchange for it.
Think of it like this--a crazy Indian guy owns all of the 7elevens in an area covering 25 states. That's ok, there's a Quik Trip across the street. Doesn't work that way with planetary travel exactly (hey there's a planet across the street durp), but there's got to be more than one place to get fuel on a planet. And even moreso, places in ORBIT.
Please make water/fuel not break embargos!

Having W-F excluded from impacting reputation was raised some time ago. The argument against doing this was actually kinda logical. If you are wanting to cripple another nation with sanctions (effectively an embargo), then you're certainly not going to allow them to freely buy and sell FUEL - the one thing that can help them continue their dastardly operations. Sure there are other things that are important to help planetary economies such as weapons, records, manufacturing materials, but fuel allows ships to come in and out of the faction's ports as easy as you please. Don't forget that the units you are talking about aren't measured in ounces or milliliters, but in kiloliters. Also, the W-F is a carefully purified heavy-water that is needed for your ship's fusion reactors. You can't buy 25 kiloliters worth of water from your near-by 7-11 ... and if you could, I bet you it wouldn't be highly purified heavy-water

Gods... why are there no gods?
The most exciting, bloody, dramatic and, may I say, romantic warring periods in our history revolves around religion.
Having an Inquisitor, Paladin, Bishop and/or Missionary class would be a blast.

You mean the holy warriors of Shalun -- the Templars -- Keeper of Law and the Protector of Man?

Oo ... new class of character - the Religious nut Shalun Templar.
This character believes that Shalun is more than just law - but stems back from a time in history where the world was indeed flat and Earth was at the center of the universe. The universe must have, of course, been semi-hemispherical as God is not wasteful or inefficient.
Charisma starts at 12 but Wisdom starts at -3 (just kidding).
Benefits: * 200% more recruits available at ports * 150% more effective crew when it comes to Exploration, Harvest, and space encounters * NO crew morale loss from battle "It was Shalun's will that caused us to be slaughtered by those heathens"

In secret we've been working on casting the mercenary thread into an Elite only character class "Shalun Templar" in honor of a secret TB project code named "TA RPG"
The Templar crews are known for specialized ships, ferocious boarding and elite training from childhood in use of the Leviathan Combat Suit.

Nifty! ;D Er... Is this Combat Suit one-size-fits-all? As in, from toddler to adult? That said, we should have a Pagan/Heretic class as well. Some guy who disbelieves that one should worship another mortal just because he did some great things while he was still alive. Or maybe a cult which worships alien Cthulhu-like elder gods with strong Narvidian influences.
