underableedingsun - the AP cost thing is mitigated by buffing before the combat. My current build of Kjartan with Immolation really took a positive turning point when I got the 9 box. Just a lot more opportunities to stack damage. Stack any level of Burning Blades you can with Immolation, always. On the Thief, my level 15 group (yes, I'm testing the next chunk of story) ... she just bought Level 3 Aimed Shot at level 15. She has 5 Deadly Intuition. Just sound random thoughts on characters builds

Wait...you can buff before combats? Buffs last for 2 combats? I must've missed something because I didn't know that! That actually makes them much more useful! Craziness!
So, if I buff do I need to break the group up, or if I scroll to a character and cast the spell does it hit everyone in the stack? How can you tell which buffs are active?
I'll have to reevaluate the buffs in light of this new development!
Edit: Dang, I see now. Really wish I would've known that.
Wow, I want to start over now, but so many hours in....

underableedingsun - a couple of good facts: 1) Open your Status and click Effects under any character to see all active effects (buffs, duration, gear, etc). 2) Buffs can last more than one combat - raise the right skills to increase their Durations. 3) At the end of a combat, a dice is rolled that reduces the duration on all buffs. The dice is bigger based on Difficulty, so sometimes you'll lose 2 turns of duration, etc. 4) A campsite or inn always clear all buffs and curses. Yeah, that makes buffs more valuable!
