Can anyone verify the number of secret doors in the smiths hoard and arachnid temple? I only ever find 9 and 8 respectively, one less than the map shows.

I feel like I've recounted those a few times going through and confirmed the number, but maybe not. I know at one point there was a secret door or two to nowhere that got fixed. I won't be going through there for a long time though. Anyone else?

Last time I was there I found the map numbers to be correct. There could be some secret rooms that have two entrances, and thus two doors counted in contributor `s map.

Thanks! I'll keep looking. I've now played through these levels multiple times and only ever find 9 and 8 secret doors. Maybe I consistently miss the same secret door each time?

How many players deliberately avoid two of the underforge levels to get to the end quicker and with less experience gained leading to slightly weaker enemies at the end? To me it feels wrong not to explore every corner of every dungeon looking for every chest full of treasures, but eventually the cost becomes too high.

Every region has a min/max range for enemy levels. So if you are completely clearing everything and getting all of the experience you can you will actually find yourself starting to find those upper maximums and find that the enemy stops leveling up. On Nightmare by the end of E2 you'll find that in a lot of areas you are equal or even above enemy level. So yes, climb every mountain, clear every corner, kill every creepy spider.

That is the best reply ever! Thank you, my team will be feared from corner to corner. I was confused earlier due to certain respawn levels, some respawned at original values while other areas matched my teams level. It is pleasant to hear there are upper limits available.

Even with the maximums there will be times when it feels like enemies are advancing faster than you are, especially if you did the Underforge before doing everything to the North in Braeys' country. My advice at those times is just to hunker down, be extra careful and push through slowly, normally you'll find that it will start getting easier again soon. If it just keeps getting harder and harder after you've leveled up 3 or 4 times, you may need to reconsider a respec of your group, because you might have build problems.

If I'm reading this correctly there's 2 secret doors in the cult house? I'm playing episode 2 for the second time with a new group, went down into the house and cleaned up all the cultists and I've been scouring the place looking for a secret door. I can't remember how I got down into the lava caves to fight the cultists last time, and now I can't for the life of me find any way down.

Off memory: go totally to the north (where there is a black and white tile pattern on the floor), in the southwest corner of that room is the secret door leading down.
As a general strategy for finding hidden doors, tap tap tap in the dark parts just behind walls, the pathfinder will lead you to the hidden room if there is one.

nednederlander - check out krakun's advice -- go either to the SW or SE corner of the big temple room.

My apologies to phaze, my memory was mistaken and I have also found 9 secret doors in smith's hoard, one less than indicated in contributor's map. Edit: I confirm 9 secret doors in arachnid temple. Could others check smith's hoard as well?
