They're not breeding. They're catching up with you, finding your colonized worlds and landing. You are the tip of the spear ... of a billion refugees who all claim Landing Rights under the Great Construction. ... I liked the idea of them breeding better. Now I just feel like an arsehole. ... Well, no, not really. But I can't build ships if I blow my money on habitat building... If I knew mines = credits, I would've worked them in better. Oh well, it IS my first time around.

Yeah -- build Mines first, then if you have Population to spare, build Factories.
I'd say let your worlds get to 2-3 Population, then push for a set of 3 more colony ships.
Your second tier of worlds are much lower starting values then the ones made by the 3 hives you start with.

Yeah I have an overpopulated seriously unhappy Rinze Settlement now, and apparently colony ships don't drop population. x.x Oh well. I'm a dictator; if they really want independence they better be ready to fight for it. >

So I find a new world... well sun, and colonize it. The people on the ship find the worlds in that solar system and land and that counts toward a new population boost?
I should stop expanding then, but I can't let the dirty aliens have the worlds :c

Solution: Build up colonies and fleets, then zap the nasty aliens.

Solution: Build up colonies and fleets, then zap the nasty aliens. Don't get crazy tho, they are easily angered and once you set one of them off ...

Easily angered is probably an understatement. The whole fleet came down on me destroying my 3 fighters and 2 cruisers in 4 turns. I don't know where they all came from D:

Easily angered is probably an understatement. The whole fleet came down on me destroying my 3 fighters and 2 cruisers in 4 turns. I don't know where they all came from D: Pretty much. And I can't recall any game that had colonizing units that fast, tough and able to handle two strike fighters with ease. I'm on Normal, but it feels a bit like I stumbled on a Hard game. According to my map, I found and settled a planet... And suddenly two or three frickin alienz come at me at a time. I look up, squint and realize that the aliens have colonized two planets about 6-8 spaces above me (one of which is partly hidden in a black square). And clearly they have money/resources to throw an endless supply of ships at me. A colony formed below and to my new planet's left, and another colony ship zipped out of view far up and to the right, laughing off two fighters. I think I'll have to start a new game. There's no way I can afford to keep throwing ships at them and I couldn't manufacture them fast enough anyway... >.>

I guess we're on their home turf, makes sense they already have it all set up.

I have my game going good, the aliens found me but my 2 Templar Defenders and Strike Fighter and Shortsword Ones are holding up fine.

I have my game going good, the aliens found me but my 2 Templar Defenders and Strike Fighter and Shortsword Ones are holding up fine. That's good news. This first alpha phase includes a pretty incomplete set of Xeno AI -- testing the rest of it's behaviors is one of the critical path items for me between here and phase 2. We'll have a lot of different AI options and hopefully over the long term that becomes on the selling points for the game. We'll see, I've been studying a lot ... hope it pays off =)

I forgot about all the problems I had with the AoP testing, google play don't like my tablet. But I side loaded the apk and it works fine.
Can you explore a planet with the scan button on an Explorer ??
