Good question I've got a quality 6 planet that is just the place to be right now. It's population is currently at 9. I smell Rychart spies spreading propaganda about all the natural beauty and incredible opportunities for personal development on Ursae Outpost (a Cadar operation).

Yeah, in this case, I'd suggestion going over planet quality. So what are the impacts of going over quality? Increases you overall maintenance cost. If you are adding Habs / Factories, you can stay very profitable, and it is way better than being under housing. Extra Spice Halls will offset any Morale damage that the over-quality would cause. Look for a decent over-Quality, like 120%.

So do xeno always build a planet at 20 pop and maxed out quality?

I invaded one on the turn after they colonized it and they already had 20 pop and I think 7 (or 10) upgrades on it.

So do xeno always build a planet at 20 pop and maxed out quality? Some of the AI did that in P2. None of them do in P3.

I invaded one on the turn after they colonized it and they already had 20 pop and I think 7 (or 10) upgrades on it. same. it explains the rapid ship production I think we need a better handle n the xeno as they seem to have the best of everything. good tech, ability to colonize a planet to full potential immediately and then the ability to ship produce rapidly. I am at 7.9AE on normal. i cant imagine making it this far on a harder level. A slightly more aggressive AI would have eaten me up. I have one planet killer that I used to kill 5 xeno planets, one of them twice because they repopulated it. During that time, my economy went to hell. I ended up at -5K. As soon as I got enough positive balance in my horde, I built another planet killer. One to go after the nearby xeno planets that keep attacking me and one to keep knocking off their new colonies in my sector. If it wasn't for the invade glitch, I think I would be dead by now as their is no way I could kill off all those planets 1-2 population at a time when the automatically start with 20 population.

They infest, like bugs....or rats....and virginia creeper EDIT: I currently despise the AI picker

I can't generate cash and keep fighting xeno. they won't let me be long enough for economic recovery. I am even up to 10 world kills.

If you've killed them 10 times they should be backing off for like 50 turns at a time.

Wish I could say "resume play on the next update" but I cannot, saved games aren't compatible at this point.
You'll have another shot and the economic system is really a lot better ... and your starting colonies =)

They aren't as big of attacks, but are almost always 1-2 killers and 1 mass driver and always on multiple fronts. It's really showing some smarts on the AI part. It's the only way I can lose
