I'm still not sure what the DV value means exactly, but I have noticed on the character screen it sort of declares how much of you is still human.

@hate / @tene - Humanity Delta Value (DV) indicates how far you have strayed into the machine over man. The farther your path takes you from flesh, the harder it is to learn and advance that very flesh. On the other hand, the cyber-freaks swear you that you can push the machine a lot farther than the flesh.

For a melee weapon suggestion:
A laser/molecuwire whip in the style of Jonny Mnemonic Claw gloves for all your ninja and Snikt-bub needs One shot toxin/poison needles One shot virus burst transmitter
And more broadly as I haven't gotten much beyond Roxbury, but weapons that are more effective the more mechanical an opponent is?
EMP or electrical weapons that are more effective against opponents with higher DV or are outright mechanical?

I think you can do a lot with that DV, then. Perhaps a small tweak to experience gains(which I know probably doesn't need much if any at the moment) to those who stay purely human. But there's got to be another reason to stay flesh-only, so perhaps some sort of bonuses? Because the only other path, at the moment, is cybernetics. Aside from slower exp gain, there's no real reason not to get the implants.
Perhaps some humanity versus machine system could be implemented to allow players to choose their path with pros and cons?
EDIT: Just thought of this after posting. Most sci-fi usually has psychics and stuff as well. Perhaps that could be the path of humanity as a reward for not going Terminator on us?

Slightly odd but I must admit that I've not tested this with the new update. Bought a clip from a weapons store and got 8 ammo. Bought a box of ammo and got 10 rounds!? Now when a clip costs 10 Yen and a box 20 Yen..... Me thinks I'll be buying it by the clip from now on.

Ii suggest an implant that would allow you to dual wield pistols and uzis. It would like half the weapons accuracy, but would be still pretty useful/fun.

If you're getting cybernetics to shoot two guns at once, odds are the implants are going to be far more accurate than if you were to try by yourself. Machines are just capable of being more precise than a human.

Can anyone shed some light on the NANO tag on some armor? Does that mean the stats change randomly?
I've got a Jaguar NanoGuard and prior to 0.1.23 it had a ballistics value of 10. (I think)
Now in 0.1.23 the ballistics value ranges from ~40->~250 depending on when open the equipment list.
I thought it could be because I've now gotten dermal implants but if I go into a shop, the Jag NanoGuard jacket there has the same values as mine.
I haven't noticed if other armors with the Nano tag are doing the same thing.
Prior to 0.1.23 I thought that the Nano tag would give you some protection against from those random nano attacks.

The nano tag means that the armor will allow you to use temporary nano-upgrade packages with that armor. These have not been added to the game yet.

Will these nano-machines take over the world as they did in MGS?

Nah, it'll be more like the ones in Red Dwarf.

I've never actually seen that show. I've told myself before that I'd make time for it, and I just haven't yet.

I believe that there is a nano medkit which is in effect at this point. If you have a nano medkit, and are wearing nano armor, you can survive a fatal blow and wake up, alive, after combat and healed.

The price of Shells is seriously way too high. 500 for a pack, 1000 for a box. Is that like 100 per round? ah but we dont know because it is never explained how many rounds are in a clip when you buy stuff. Anyway the price of ammo is completely insane compared to the cost of rewards for the quests. And when I am fighting Riot police and corporate soldiers I need better guns than pistols. I mean this bug might be mitigated if you gave out some missions with higher pay offs... like 30x the current pay offs. I am not too bothered by the combat system, it is remarkably balanced for something so new and raw. But, I have a bit more knowledge of its guts than a lot of you so far, so I know how to tweak my characters. It may seem a little hard to make money at first, but I assure you that there are some very decent ways to get cash fairly quickly. Here is my suggestion: Do quests out of the Laughing Dog in The Fenns. Only do Delivery quests that take you to Commonwealth or Roxbury Crossing. Buy a decent weapon like the big ARES pistol and some armor as soon as you can. Then, start saving up to 5000 creds. Once you have this, go the Commonwealth and buy a Computer II at Claire Street Thrift Store. This will let you do up to 3 missions at once. Keep doing bunches of 3 missions from the Laughing Dog, but try and plan your routes so that they take little time. The gangers in these areas are pretty easy to kill once you have some gear and a bit of exp, so you should be able to level up and get some good cash pretty quickly. Once you have some cash stockpiled, go buy some decent implants and better guns/armor at some of the Downtown/MARS/AzTek shops. If you want a good gun, I suggest the MT Uzi sold in Downtown. With this puppy and the right character build, you can farm the crap out of riot police and gang samurai. These higher level characters will drop expensive loot, and even paydata disks fairly often. Check your V-Chips, and find a contact you have that will buy a specific type of paydata, then farm the crap out of them to get a bunch of the disks. Voila! You will be rich in no time. As of one of the past few updates, I haven't been able to find any computers that store more than one job - even the ones costing 30000 or more...
