Ok, so here is a thread for questions/input/ideas for Armor, Weapons, & Ammo!
My first question is, where do I find some regular rounds, not pistol ones? I bought myself a fancy new AK-17, but I can't find any ammo for it!
I buy/find new clips/ammo boxes, but all they give me are pistol rounds...

We'd love to hear more suggestions from players about new weapon types. The next weapons release will double the variety with new range types (shotguns), new pistol types (machine pistols) lower quality rifles (only the panther cannon is available today) and more.
About rounds, I believe you want to look for Auto Clips, Auto Belts, Shells, and Boxes of Shells. Keeping your gear stocked up with special bullet types can be difficult, as these are not as easy to find. I suggest keeping a heavy revolver and some pistol rounds in the satchel, just in case you run short on auto rounds.
There is a church near the I-93 Barrens that carries the rounds. Also, try Back Bay Importers in Old Kenmore as they carry nearly everything. There are about 8 other shops that currently carry these types of rounds consistently, and that will go up as the region content is re-vamped.

Right on. Thank you. I found the ammo.
Also, I found a bug at the Back Bay Importers. I bought an MT Hunting Rifle, but it didn't deduct the credits from me. So, I bought a second one to test it again, but this time it did make me pay.
Edit:Also, when I went to sell my spare one at the small pawn shop in Roxbury Crossing, I noticed that when you sell weapons, there are only icons for the weapons shown. You do not have the weapon name, item info, or price you will sell for listed. Thank you!

That must have been their Monday, 2 sniper rifles for the price of one deal! I have entered your bug into the bug tracker and we will investigate.

I had a contract that was supposed to give me 75 yen(there should be an in-game explanation as to why yen is the currency), and I had 328 yen when I first accepted the mission. After completing it, I had only gained 25 yen for a total of 353 yen. Are there deductibles we don't know about? =P
Something else I want to bring to light is the taxi driver. I had 0 heat when I called him, and he told me that I was too hot for him to pick me up. Related to that, when I go to different districts and use their inns, my heat still remains at whatever level it was at before. I was under the impression that waiting things out at inns would help reduce heat, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
Anyway, I want you guys to know I think you're doing a fine job. And I appreciate the chance to be a part of a beta like this. It's fun helping out with this stuff, especially since you guys are so enthusiastic about it, and very responsive. Keep up, bro!

@hate - your base heat is equal to your negative reputation with the owner of a region. If the Los Val hate you (-9) your heat will never go below 9 as long as you stay in their territory. Your additional heat (from illegal or violent activities) is added to this. So, therefore staying in a hotel on the Los Val streets (-9) will not reduce your heat to 0 (only to -9). If you leave Los Val and head somewhere friendly, your heat might hit 0.
I have added a bug about the taxi driver being lazy (or working other jobs). Sometimes he is just busy, but he should not reject you on heat if you have 0. Sorry the contract stole your money. Which type of job was it?
Thanks for the help and encouragement. You are doing a fine job!

It was a "fetch this and bring it back" type mission. It wasn't related to the taxi driver incident, but he's done that to me every time I've tried to use him. I was starting to think he was scared of a couple flying bullets and radioactive explosions.
As for the Heat thing, I'm still not familiar at all with the politics in this game. In STRPG, it was easier with just the 6 houses, and each supported specific playstyles better than others. In this, there's no actual in-game description of any of the gangs or organizations, so it's hard to figure out who's who. Also, my Los Val rep standing never changed from 0 either, but I know I busted up quite a few of their thugs.
Oh, while I'm here, can I recommend either expanding the time frame for combat toasts just by .5 seconds, or make an option like in STRPG? Even if it is just flavor text, I'd like to be able to actually read what is said to me.

I have logged the request for the "Long Notification" option, no problem -- good idea

Interesting development here. My Heat and faction standing with Los Val changed after I quit the game and then started it back up. Just thought I'd bring this to light for you. My Heat went from 0 to 14, and my standing with them went from 0 to -6. I hadn't moved an inch, and I checked it when I logged out and again when I logged back into the game.

I have logged the Quit / Continue changes Heat / Faction rep bug in the bug tracker! Thanks again for watching our Beta so closely.

Yeah, I have also noticed a large jump in heat in areas after re-starting the game, when I had done/encountered nothing that could explain it.
So, back onto the thread topic of weapons and stuffs...
I noticed with my cybersword, that I could have a melee weapon equipped in "one hand" and a ranged weapon in the "other" and swap them back and forth in combat. I cannot seem to do this with my hacker character.
Is this a bug, or a function of the class design?
Also, would it be possible to allow a small ranged weapon in one hand, like a pistol, and a larger one like an assault or hunting rifle in the other?

Weird. On my Cybersword I can't swap at will. It takes a whole turn to remove the item, and then another to eqpuip the next weapon. Of course, all I have currently is an Ares pistol and a steel knuckle.

@hate - have you tried clicking "Attack" button and then clicking "Weapon"? This should switch them for you.

I have, but it does nothing. Out of combat, it tells me that my weapon slot is full. Seems odd that a knuckle would prevent me from firing a gun. =P
