I have yet to experience the "rollover bug". At first I was selling data to Malloy and would only have 100M at a time. My rep w/ Bravestar would fluctuate from positive to negative and back in small increments, usually + or - 10 to 20 points, but I was breaking even for the most part. I finally bought a fairlight (I love the shadowrun reference by the way) and sold Malloy 1000M worth of paydata. Now my rep with Bravestar is a whopping -595. Looks like I'll have to do quite a few missions for them to get back in the positive. My question is when I was selling smaller amounts of data earlier, was it a glitch that I was sometimes getting positive rep from Bravestar or was it just a bad roll of the dice that I got the huge negative rep with my big sale?
On a side note, I'm loving this game. It's the only game I have purchased for my Droid. Great work devs, keep it up!!

It probably happens when you have more than 1 faction that hates you to the core.
In NBZ, it's probably a good thing to be a badboy (or girl). They hate you so much that they can't help falling in love with you. ;D

well, if he has gotten beyond a 255 rep, then that disproves my idea. i doubt you would have rep go all the way to 65,535 so that discounts my hexidecimal value theory. i guess the mystery remains!

I've had a problem(?) with this too - sometimes selling data back to Bravestar makes them like me, sometimes it makes them hate me. Is there a rule for inducing the one response instead of the other?

there is a database of contacts, each one has a "works for" and a "works against" value. the combination of the two should be yielding the resultant change in Reputation.
Do you have a specific contact?

there is a over-time cooldown to reputation. it isn't a static value. as brave star's power raises and drops, so does the interest the Faction has in hunting down it's recent enemies.
cross brave star when it is at full power and you will pay a heavy price. we are still working on getting the UI ready for this system.

i have ONLY captain malloy. i sell one ream of data to him, and blam, negative 150. i IMMEDIATELY fill my computer with paydata again, and sell it to captain malloy, and blam, positive 11. this all happened in the span of 15 minutes.
if it helps, i am using the yakuza terminal, the one outside of the tunnel that you need to pay 150 to use. i have used other terminals, but i use that one most of the time.

I find paydata too easy too get. Maybe securities get tighter after every successful hack?

james123 - hacking is on the list of systems that are still considered in BETA and need a lot of work. The system is skin deep right now, but we will be taking a deep dive in the near future!
