Dying clears your heat.
The other thing you can try is to stay at multiple, different hotels. The Cyber Knight is an urban vagabound, no where is his home. Do not stay at the same hotel back to back, expecting to drop your heat. Travel around, stay at a few places.
With heat that high, ... you might just be in permanent trouble. I have added the "What do I do if I have 1300 heat" to the BETA bug list... we will try to find an answer.
Tried safe houses?

JDying doesn't "erase" your heat it just drops it about halfway when you reach a certain apex. (Say....345?)

Yes it clears it.but if you have negative rep with some corp, it makes unclearable heat in that factions area.

ok, back on topic about politics. I used to run Shadowrun the RPG about 10 years ago, still have the books and just found your game and am getting back into shadowrun this weekend.
Wow, wasnt back on topic, so here goes.
When your rep with a faction reaches Loyal member maybe in the future you could make it so in that faction area you are not ambushed by that faction. As a matter of fact how about you make it so that they give you information or equipment.
Maybe even offer to join you on a temporary basis.
This game is good even in beta stages and I cant wait for more to be added.

I think it would be good if the more you work for a particular faction, the more you found out about the inner workings of that faction., as well as discounts, missions extra. doing missions for, or directly paying contacts would be a good way to introduce this

It would be kinda cool to have a non-hacking point to the Matrix too, and it could be for news on faction politics. Sort of like the faction politics toasts in STRPG. That would be kinda fantastic.

@evan - great place to disseminate that information. A conflict and rumor system is pending development, but the Matrix will probably be a great place to hear about what is happening out there!

@drew61 - great idea. we have taken note and come up with a number of encounters that could happen in friendly territory. Some of the more exciting ones are the faction denizens needing your help, which is sure to lead to trouble. We aren't too keen on them giving you money and EQ, because they you could work with Los V until they like you, and then walk up and down their street all day while money and EQ rains out of the sky =) Encounters need to always present a game of chance, a game of skill, and a threat.
As mentioned before, encounters are very much in BETA and will become more in depth with possibly a series of choices / informational points to allow you to navigate and get to an answer.
Except for the dome. The dome will just fall on you. And you will curse the name of Mars for it.
