Honestly, you can feel it by playing the game... maybe because there isn't someone trying to sell you a bazooka for some mere (but sadly real) $9,99 each time you change of map ? Really love your way of doing things...
About new encounters, I really have a poor imagination, but I thought of :
A battle between two factions (ex : "Some Street members just went berserk against Fennian gangers : ignore/help Street/help Fennian")
An bored veteran CyberKnight challenge you to a duel : he is insanely strong, but allows you to gain rare weapon, or loads of yen... He could be as rare as Aliens in STRPG, so that no one would end chasing him endlessly for money, and could be part of the upcoming system of rumors ?

faction battle is awesome.
we are working on some ultra rare rumor types ....
things like rumors that appear 0.001% of the time when ...
- you have a specific item
- you have completed a specific quest
- when you have a specific "state"
and so on. the heading in the design document is "The Alien of CK"
so right on, Knight, right on.
PS: Yah, agreed. I suppose it didn't really need saying. If we were after the money we'd be using in-game ads and in-game sales like Glu Mobile

About encounters, I came up with one which would be a bonus/malus gamble, like when someone is folowing you : "une erreur sur la personne" (I just CAN'T translate it, though I've been trying for the last ten minutes ! =D). You know, when someone mistake you for someone else ?
