beuns I love x-com enemy unknown and within. I've sunk so many hours in there Did they deal with the atrocious "game breaking" bugs, that were in the first release, or is it still hit and miss? They didn't. I have it on the Xbox 360 (far buggier than PC, not as buggy as PS3 version) and I've had Line of Sight issues, heavies and support being unable to target anyone after using the Supression ability (even sent in a bug report and was told to work around it, despite having noted in the report that the work around didn't help my character), had at least four soldiers go down and die because my medic suddenly couldn't target them for revival (and one was a colonel), I personally had my game get trapped at the Hologlobe meaning I couldn't leave the map ergo game ruined, there's a well-known ironman savegame corruption issue too... Check the 2k forums for details, but frankly I'm pissed that the worst of the bugs (save game corruption, unrevivable allies, a soldier ability that can't be used as its one big bug, so on) were never fixed or mentioned even with the boatload of complaints about them (see their bug page). Okay, sorry. Done ranting and raving.

Ah well I play x-com on the PC and have almost no issues so my condolences to the console people Officer Genious. Likewise. My sympathies to you and anyone else playing XCOM on a console. I REALLY had to struggle to fight round the bugs on "XCOM, Terror From The Deep". Same issues, with targetting and submarines launching and never returning, so a sub pen was permeantly in use, with no docked sub! NOT a good experience. I only won because a bug didn't ruin the game for once. This WAS on PC. Signed. A Fellow Ranter.

Nethack is worth a look, if anyone has passed it up.

Hm. Cg, if you enjoy shooting Zeddies, try the Boxhead Series. Fun graphics (nonconventional, for a zed flash game) and a lot of content. Or my personal favorite: The Last Stand 1 to 3 (3 is called Union City). Made by a fella who's a true professional of his craft.

Nethack is worth a look, if anyone has passed it up. Indeed, I got it on my mac. No GUI, just the terminal. A few years back, I'd never have guessed that such a game could provide so much long-term fun.

I really loved the last stand 2, the gameplay was really cool. So I tried 1 and I was disappointed. I tried 3 and I like it (I still play sporadically) even if I usually don't like multiplayer games. Jacob - please tell your friend he does a great job for me

I've just started playing Farming simulator 2011, with all the expansion packs. Got it off Steam. They're doing a 50% reduction to the expansions at present, but the base pack, is about 100% more expensive, than it was available in the shops for.

Cg: Farming sim? What are you, a leaf of bread that wants to relive about its fetus experiences? No. I wanted a farming sim, so I could go back to my roots.

Jacob : I was talking about the fact that you can ally yourself with other players (once you have built the radio) and other players can raid your HQ. I'm not involved enough (and I don't have enough time for that ) to like that kind of feature.

Has anyone played or even heard of the Armored Core series? I hardly play anything but Armored Core: Verdict Day anymore. It has a team based multiplayer system that I haven't seen in any other game. I believe it's only on consoles though, unfortunately for PC gamers.

resistor - haven't played Armored Core here. What's unique about its team based multiplayer?
